Flash in the pen

Flash in the pan is a phrase used for brief success that is not repeated.  Flash in the pen is when your hot flash radiates heat to your linen and makes your Frixion pen marks disappear.

Working on the stem and satin to complete that vase and I'm switching stitches to meet my mood.  I can do the stem easily, but when a circle is to filled, should they follow the curves or be straight?  I did the ovals and then after outlining the bottom, filled it with satin.  No one will know the difference.  I had to re-pen the vines on the right too, and they are finished as is the complete border.  The piece is not pressed and not lying flat which is why it looks so wonky.
I will start photographing the individual Santas for the sale and will set up a separate page and offer them some time this weekend.  I'll post the time and date.

We're pretty cold here.  Nitzy is in his favorite stretched position and Missy is being a brat as usual.  My scratches are healing.

And we have another cat hanging around.  Beautiful fluffy longer hair, gray with white chest and nose, flea collar embedded in his neck.  We tried to get close but it's not happening, and I don't know what will occur when the brats see him on our deck.
Tomorrow I take Carole for an Echocardiogram, the next day we take my nephew (stoned on Valium) for his claustrophobic MRI, afternoon is my DEXA scan, dentist on Thursday.  Busy week.  With one car since we took my new vehicle into the body shop this morning.  Mark pulled out for a left hand turn and didn't see the EXPLORER coming from the right.  Both are OK, cars are hospitalized.

Have a safe and warm week!

Sally will be done shortly and I can't wait.

Yeaaaa for you. It is looking great as always. Glad your scratches are healing. Yes, you do have a busy week. I really get so tired that my big day out is to see another Dr.. I get to see my knee Dr Wednesday...am having to use cane to get around and will probably get another shot in the knee. Hope it helps. Guess that goes with the territory. Keep safe where ever you go.
Doing a small...*Prim Sisters Needlebook*... a book it will not be. I Like the design and will be giving it a simple frame to use on my proposed 'sampler wall' above my imaginary mantel. Will take pictures when it is done.

TTYL with Peace and Blessings to all,
Barb

When it rains, it pours, or so I've heard it said. I hope all of the appointments will go well and that your cars don't have to stay in the hospital toooo long.
I'm going to the dentist Friday for my bi-yearly tooth cleaning. Fun, fun and more fun !
I'm sorry to hear about the kitty with the collar. So sad. I'm glad your scratches are healing.
Glad too, that you're almost finished with Sally. You should have a party to celebrate.

I'm glad no one was hurt in the accident, Marly! Sure hope you get your car back soon--and to think, that years ago, most families made do with only one car!! I can't imagine...

Your sampler is growing nicely--hang in there! And best of luck with all of the doctors' appointments. I seem to be visiting them a lot lately, too... Sigh! Is this what being in your 60s is like?!

Oh no! The new car. Glad Mark is fine.
Another cat. Great. not. My mother's neighborhood still has the same problem. Cats, cats, everywhere cats!

Don't you count?? And I'm in love with Nitzy... There, I said it. Smiles & Kitteh Hugs ~ Robin (PS - Good luck with all your appointments!! Praying for you and sis!!)

Marly: Oh my goodness, you are busy, Blondie the Cat says that your babies need to realize how lucky they are and of course to not scratch you.
I hope your car gets out of the hospital soon.

You are busy. I like being busy but not with all the medical stuff. I need to go to dentist, eye doctor, and a physical. UG!! I love the colors on that sampler! Sorry about the car!!!

Marly, I just got home from work and am tired since I started at noon and it's now 11.28 PM! It is also -42 degrees with the wind chill (-31 without) and baby it's cold outside. I'm actually punching some Marly attitude and would make you proud. I really needed your blog tonight and can REALLY relate to both kitties! Thank you for the laughs before bed. Sweet dreams! Those kitties look so content they might never go outside again. Hope you can catch that new little cat, sounds like he needs some love. Your sampler is gorgeous. Hope all the doctor appointments go well and your car comes home quickly.

Anybody who does freehand embroidery has my admiration. (That's what that is, right?) Sorry about the accident. I hate accidents. Good luck with all the doctor appointments. I hope there's good news all around.

Sorry to hear about the accident, but glad no one was hurt. I hope all the appointments go well. I can't imagine hot hands making the frixon pen disappear. My hands are always freezing -- even through the super hot hot flashes

You gotta love a dude like Nitzy that just lets it all hang out! Stay warm as this is some serious cold. Glad the only thing hurt was two autos. Hope you get your hands on the new gray kitty. Your sampler is gorgeous!

Sorry to hear about hubby's accident and that you are down to one car. That just doesn't work these days, especially when you have such a busy schedule like yours this week. Glad he is well tho! Sally is coming along nicely! Hugs!
