After a two day break, back to Christmas to close in on a finish. This is lot of stitching for me. Not for most, but when I want a project to be over it drags and feels like more than it actually is. I do like the way the berries will finish with the overdyed thread.
I found this old Occident flour baking book in family recipes. Occident was a brand of flour and this little book has breads, tarts, muffins, cookies, cakes, pies, rolls, icings, and sandwiches. Some sound a little odd but obviously popular many years ago.
I was surprised to learn this flour is still sold, mostly in Amish areas, and is highly rated for texture and freshness of baked goods.
Who knew?
Have a good day. Stay warm and safe.

Beautiful stitching! Lovely piece - I have stitched it myself.
Looking so lovely, Marly! Yes, that berry color is wonderful.
I really enjoyed reading the recipes you posted from that old cookbook. There are some very interesting combinations there! Lovely stitch as always Marly.
I'm loving this...berries are going to be perfect. Those recipes...ummm...weird. Even by my standards LOL.
Some of those sandwich filling recipes remind me of what we might use today in 'fancy' tea sandwiches; and some interesting new ideas!
I do remember as a child having chopped meat sandwiches. Very interesting to read these recipes. Your Merry Christmas piece is mighty fine! The floss you chose for the berries is perfect. Janice
