Hi folks. Hope everyone has power and warmth.
Who is planning to watch the Olympics for two weeks? Or specific sports in that time? Who is planning to waste time starting projects they lose interest in? Raise your hand.
Mine is waving at full height.
The recent berry construction is being done over. I like the leaves, not the stem, and the berry itself needs to be shortened a bit. Tacky glue is easily removed with water, had no issues disassembling and removing any glue.
Decided to try Mary Spinney's interesting mid section, but without multiple colors. Love this quirky gal. But as much as I like this sampler and thought more subdued threads would be fine, it's not working out. Why? Linen color? Maybe. As is, fine. But adding other colors, no. Several rows of lower case alpha removed, bands also. Enough. Move on.
School busses, delivery trucks, newspapers, all without interruption. US mail? Two deliveries in ten days. That second delivery was a glorious box of chocolates along with another hand made card from Brenda.
Planning to choose another stitch, found a few smalls on IG, one is (kitted) quite costly with a box I do not like at all, another with subscription (patreon). Moving on, lots of things to chose from. Isn't the number of designers and style options amazing? It's exciting to come across those not known/seen before.
A can't find my 4.0 magnifiers. ????? When searching for others, trying to see the strength is difficult. So I set the label onto wet clear nail polish, let dry, added two top coats. Made labels for the others I was sure of, so much better. I use three different strengths ... reading, stitching, sewing machine.
Hope your weekend is enjoyable.
Be safe.

You do sound unsettled indeed stitch-wise. Hope you find a piece that suits you and soothes your restless stitchy soul. I'm just restless all over. Hmmm....I did not know that tacky glue came out with water. Really? After all these years I learn this?? Love the idea of marking your reader strengths. I used to get frustrated with that but when my eyesight went really bad, I just use +3.75 or +5.0 and I (usually) can tell the difference. Thinking pretty soon it won't matter at all as all will be +5 ...or higher? (Do they even make igher than that???) PS...feel free to give Brenda my address....especially if chocolate's involved LOL)
About the stem of the berry-- you could take a branch of a tree to make a stem. Perhaps you can remember that I send tou a photo of the Christmas pear you had made a free chart for us. The Christmas Pear I send you ,had a stem of a branch...it was many years ago.
Your stitching you are working at the moment, perhaps it does miss a sparkle. Instead of the blue a dark orange red May be better? Sorry if I say to much about your stitching....
Take care,Truus from Holland
My highest readers, as of now anyway, are 3.0. Sometimes it works better to use a lower magnification in combination wiht a magnifier on a stand. I've been tempted to get a binocular stand microscope like I used to use at work, but yeesh they are pricey!
I did not know Tacky Glue will come of after a soaking - thanks for that tip. I like Truus's suggestion of using a bit of tree branch on your strawberry.
The only sporting thing I'll watch today is the most important one - Puppy Bowl! I *may* watch some Olympics figure skating, and will ignore the hell out of the Superbowl.
