Online?
Nope. I was scanning the sewing machine mess and decided to look through the pile of finishes. So many I had forgotten about.
Spring Green was a finish I did not care for because of the Gingerbread linen. It matched the photo in the book, the threads were changed since most were ghosted, but still very blah. This previous blog photo shows the roll stitched but it is nowhere.
I tried adding one darker stitch in the ziggy border, hoping for .... something. One side in the roof's brown, the other in a darker green. Better, but I should just stitch over on a different linen. I think the green will stay, brown removed. The top border is original. Thoughts?
Outlining in the green would be too much, I think the single stitch add works.
Warming up here this week. Progress to spring.
Went to a shop that offers deli items, and every imaginable condiment and sauce (brand and local Amish) plus gifts galore. Nice heavy canvas bags, other purses, scents, puzzles, signs, jewelry, kitchen items, so much to look through. Since we have few stores left here, something routine elsewhere is a treat here.

Be well, stay safe.

GAH! Ice Cubes!! Those were my favorite candies growing up! Haven't seen any in years and years. I like your Spring Green and your needle roll (too bad it's MIA), but adding the darker green really pops it. The brown is ok, but agree, I'd probably stick with the green. I've not stitched Spring Green but did stitch the roll...but I used the called-for threads (yeah, creative, imaginative, me). Talk about ghosted stitches and blah. I think, too, that how you finish Spring Green could make the stitching stand out more whether it is framed or made into a pouch or mounted on a box, etc. ~Robin~ (You should have grabbed more than one Ice Cube...seriously.)
I love that your sister is with you still...these experiences are starting to melt into your loving memories of her. I'm quite touched.
I actually like that brown in the zigzag border as well as the highlight in the leafy motif, adds needed contrast. You are clever and able to sew, have you considered framing the piece with a coordinating cotton fabric? It would look cute as a tiny pillow displayed with your other smalls. It`s fun to shop or browse in a new place and yes, Carole will always be with you in spirit and as Nancy says- loving memory.
I remember Ice Cubes...guess I am dating myself. Am having trouble with a stitched piece myself right now. Am not liking the color fabric choice I picked out...frogged 4 greens now because I did not like the shade and just went on to something different last night. I do hate ghosting...and had a sampler that had a lot in it. I changed most of the letters because I wanted to see most of them and just kept a few ghosted. Why bother stitching if you cannot see it. Good luck on your decision. Janice
I think that's a very pretty piece...and the needle roll!! Is that a bird on it? That is one BBD book I do not have...maybe I should get it? I've never had an Ice Cube - sounds great though. I'll bet The Vermont Country store has them - they have all the old candies you can't find anywhere now!
Hello Marly: Spring Green is lovely I like the fabric color.
Ice Cubes are hard to find, love the smooth chocolate so yummy. So many lovely designs coming out this year.
I love exploring new to me stores, some you can find such unique items.

I’ve been offline for way too long so trying to catch up on you was top priority. I love the Chala bags and switched to them when Covid hit because I didn’t want to put my bag in a cart. Now they are my only purses because I can’t cram a lot of junk in them and they are cross body so I can touch everything like a 5 yr old as well.
