Some new found freebies

Two in a row!   These are the other mentions I left out of yesterday's post.  Many of you may be familiar with Sub Rosa but for the rest of you - it is certainly worth a look.  How did I miss this blog????  I found a free design called Birds of a Feather in my files and had a hard time deciphering the web address.  But am I glad I did!!  This page HERE has wonderful free smalls in a more primitive style and I like them all.  I translated the blog so it may come up in English but she has a translate button at the top for you.  Her main blog page is HERE and certainly one I will be following.

I've obviously visited before since I have the Birds design but as with many of my bookmarks, must have been lost.  This is Birds of a Feather.

And this is Locks and Keys.  Two of my favorites!  I will need to spend some time this evening going through her blog and see what I've missed.

I was at JoAnn's last week and the quilting supplies were all 50% off.  I've been wanting the Stitch Starter little corner thingy for marking your fabric and came across this similar item from Omnigrid.   Mark will drill little holes through the 2 and 3 inch corners.  I don't know if the original has them but I would like to pull a strand of floss through the measurement to mark the spot.  Plus it has a larger hole from displaying in the store, which can be threaded with ribbon to tie or hang on a bag.
I can make my own padded case for it (but will probably clip it to something) and thought it was a good substitute.  I figured I would lose misplace it eventually so I was being cheap cost-effective since this was cheaper than the shipping charges alone.
And I was right.  I just looked for the darn thing to take a photo for you and couldn't find it.  I tore up the sewing room, the stitching mess in the parlor, and found it in the family room on top of the pie safe.   Why there?????  When they are again at half off I will get another and tape it to the back of the TV.  Just in case.  I always know where the TV is.

Enjoy your day!  Thanks for visiting!!

Heavens, I enjoy your posts so much. I live in the shadows lurking around your posts living vicariously through your humorous life. I have to respond to this one. I've laughed my butt off over the TV comment - you are so talented - you really should do stand up!

In my haze of menopause I lose everything I touch - especially anything to do with needlework, quilting, or my favorite magazines. It doesn't help that I had a second round of children after the age of 40, so anything I cherish gets picked up and moved to a new location by my three or five year old. (sweet babies)

Anyway, I just had to post how much I love your posts...now where did I put my laptop... How did it get so hot in here...

Ok...I'll display my ignorance for all to witness: What, exactly, do you use that Omnigrid "thingy" for??? Thanks for the reminder about Subrosa....I had stumbled upon her blog some time ago but (ummm, yeah, it happens to more than you) forgot the name/place I bookmarked it - so I'm grateful you brought it up!! LOVE the tv idea....but I'm thinking I'm really going to have to get a bigger tv.... Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

OMG I laughed! I do the same thing when I put things in a "safe" place. My only question is - you will remember where the t.v. is, but with me, I'd forget that I'd stuck anything to the back of it. Have fun!

Very cute freebies from Subrosa! I stitched one of hers back in April (the Welcome Spring bunnies and it is one of my favorite finishes)...

That gadget you got from JoAnn's looks very helpful for corners--will check them out next time I'm in. Thanks for the tip!

You are the best. Isn't it amazing that we can miss place things so easily, exspecially when we tell ourselves that we will remember. Just found about $200 the other day that got put away for safe keeping around a year or 2 ago. I guess it was a safe keeping place after all.
I think my dad in heaven is just having a good old chuckle about this one. He always use to give me a hard time about all the money that I "had" when I would find some in a birthday card years later.
