I need a small!

Certainly not in clothing size, but in stitching size.  I've made enough errors in the border while continuing Ann to realize I need to calmly set her aside for a bit.  Sally Fiske was back at home plate and while working on her once again, I started wondering what I could do to help with the arthritic hands.  That's a huge piece of fabric to be rolling and holding.  I've seen a few videos and comments on blogs about using a hoop while still utilizing the sewing method of stitching.  My desire to stab and jab only surfaces for rotten people.  I have two frames...wait...did I give the big one away?  I have a very heavy wooden hoop....wait...did I give it away?  I have a very large oval hoop on a floor stand for quilting, in the attic, unless I gave it away.  Am I the only one losing her mind?  Do you doubt yourself more and more?  Can you still get up from a chair without looking for something to push off of or grab on to?  Why is everything on my body getting bigger and looser except my esophagus which is shrinking?  I'm sorry.  Got off course.

On Patricia's Stitching Samplers blog, her July 9 post featured a video of a stitcher using the sewing method while hooping it.  Methinks it's possible!  There's hoop for me yet.  So now I will tear the house apart looking for the fricking frames and hoops that may be long gone.  I do believe the quilt stand hoop is still in the attic because I surely would have remembered the fall when trying to bring it down.  Since Sally is such a large piece of linen, it may fit in that monster.  If I could still do my stitching method, what a blessing this would be to not have hand cramps.  And with both hands free, I could help direct the needle to the right spot from beneath.  Does blood wash out of linen?  If this doesn't work, I need a small.  Quick.  I don't even know if I have any that weren't previously stitched OR that I gave away.  I'm going up to the attic now.  Hope to be back soon and not on the injured list.

Have a good Monday!!

Thanks for visiting.

You crack me up. I hope you find the needed frames and and that one works for you. I am using a hoop right now for the first time doing cross stitch because the project is big enough to cramp up my hands. The hoop does help.

I've not cross stitched much in decades, but never did use the sewing method - probably why I was the world's slowest cross stitcher.
Hope you find your hoop.
Hugs :)

I hope you find the hoop. I have loads of arthritis in my hands. I do use a hoop but I can only stitch for about 2 hours and then the pain sets in. Sometimes I do a bit in the afternoon but I am basically an evening stitcher(the only way I can stand my DH's TV!)I think I mentioned Voltaren Gel. It helps me a lot and I use a vary small amount. You have get it from the DR.

Lori of Notforgotten Farm will shortly be offering an adjustable stand that will fit any embroidery hoop. That maybe your answer...
And yes, it is hell getting older because everything grows, falls down, or dries up...

I could never get the hang of the sewing method so its stab'n'stitch for me but agree with others it is soooo sloow would love to be able to cross stitch quicker....actually to do a lot of things quicker would be nice. X

Hope you didn't fall and are still in one piece.
Cannot see the video of the hoop stitching-will asked a son to helpb with that.
When there is blood on your linen you have to spit on the blood and then use a kitchenroll to go over that spot to get it away-don't rub!!!

Check out Notforgotten Farm's Etsy shop - the stand should be listed by now. Lori's husband made her a lap stand because of her arthritic hands. It'll hold several sizes - I think 8 was the largest size hoop.

Hi. Love your posts. I have the frame that you sit on and I like it. I could never stitch with fabric rolled in my hand I have arthritis too in my hands and I had carpal tunnel surgery years ago and holding fabric in hand really bothers me so I have to use either
Q-snaps (which I love) or a hoop. Theresa
