Hiya! I've been seeing these little quick stitch bags on several blogs and decided to make a few. Here's mine.
Of course, mine is the version for those of us with the least patience,
too lazy to thread the machine with matching thread,
and carrying a bottle of Liquid Stitch.
That's right. I glued it.
And of course I had to use a lightweight fusible interfacing. I'm really hooked on it.
The tutorial can be found here and here.
When I got to the part of topstitching the edges and sewing the sides, I realized my sage green thread was somewhere it shouldn't be.
When I got to the part of topstitching the edges and sewing the sides, I realized my sage green thread was somewhere it shouldn't be.
So I glued the area left open for turning with a tiny line of Liquid Stitch directly on the edge, and proceeded to glue the sides to form the shape. The lazy lady's ort bag.
Quick and cute little project.
If anyone is interested in Prairie Schooler Santa or Christmas charts, there is a nice lot coming up on Ebay here.
That's it. Just wanted to show this project in case you haven't seen it.
Hope you're all having a good week - talk to you soon - thank you for reading!!!

I haven't seen it, lovely bag!
Have a nice day. xoxo
LOVE YOUR ORTS BAGS.... ESPECIALLY THE RED ONE...
Very nice! I like how you glued instead of sewed. lol! Also clever to use the flaps to hold your tools.
How totally cute!!!!
Hey Marly! These are great!! I love the idea of using the glue and the charm idea on the safety pin is nice. Clever way to store your tools as well. Very pretty.
I had this bookmarked but have not tried one yet. I love your prim version with the safety pin :)
Marly you always crack me up.
Still laughing at the Lazy Lady's ort bag!

I love these, Marly!! I've received a couple as gifts, but never thought about gluing them--great idea. I just used that same lighter green fabric to finish my deer ornament that I posted yesterday--good old JoAnn's!!
Very nice thread catchers! You are ingenious : ) Blessings, Shirlee
Fabulous, you have put your own stamp on these, and cannot see that they are glued!!! I must get some of that Liquid stitch lol.
Those are darling Marly!!!!
Blessings
Sweet little ort bags... and what's wrong with using glue? I think that was a very clever solution.
You chose perfect color combos Marly.
I have seen alot of these in blogland lately. Yours are gorgeous.
I vote for buttons!
I like the safety pins ... gives a prim look to it!
I love your stitch bags and see nothing wrong with a little bit of glue!!

The ort container's look great Marly!!
what a unique thread catcher, nice job! thanks for the ebay tip on the santa patterns...I've had my eye on all of those, it looks like a great deal.
I love your fabrics !!!!!
Awesome work ;)
What a great idea! Thanks Marly. I'll have to make one. Have a great day!
I love your bags! I don't see anything wrong with using the glue. It works and beats trying to match thread to fabric. :)I like the idea of using the buttons.
I want to make some of them! Great idea to use the glue! LOL The pin is a nice addition, too. Nice but not overly fussy, which is my favorite type of thing. :)
Have a great weekend!
