Mary and Sue

Good day to you.  Just a quick post to show Susannah French on the wall and my progress on the Bargello.  Sue fit perfectly on the wooden lid of a basket and I had padding and studs ready, but decided it wouldn't be practical.  Those baskets hold supplies and are used frequently and stacked.

So I fringed,
attached the stiff interfacing at the top for the nails and hanging stability,
sprinkled her with some black coffee,
and stuck her on the wall with tacks to be replaced later.

Here's progress on Haslehurst.  I'm going to start the center now and then return to the Bargello on the other side.  I'm so glad I started this design.  Love it.  The center calls for 422 which is barely noticeable so I'm using the 434 that's also in the design.
Thanks for visiting.  Enjoy your Sunday!

I've never tried Bargello - you make it look not quite so difficult, though I don't know if I could tackle it.

Oh, I just love Susannah French! Is that iron on interfacing? Bought on a roll or cut from yardage? I have so many samplers I need to do something with!
Happy Sunday!
Hugs :)

The Rice stitching you have done looks very nice! Cannot quite pinpoint what fabric I like best, but I certainly know what I DON'T like! I have a stitching friend who had a stroke while in her second go round of treatment for breast cancer. It was (and still is) pretty bad the damage done. May she recover fully over time! Hugs to you!

I'm absolutely in love with that bargello work!! If this piece didn't have all that freehand stuff, I might consider buying a copy for myself. lol! Love Susannah too!

Bargello ... hmmm, brings back happy memories from about 35 years ago when I made needlepoint Christmas stockings for each of my children, Even then it took me a year for each ... but, I was a full time working mom. I also did a pillow using the bargello design and it still sits on my bed.
All is looking wonderful ... and the sampler is fantastic.

Have a Great day with much Peace,
Barb

I like it unframed. And I still don't know how you're managing to stitch the bargello. Did I spell that right?? They both look beautiful!

Hugs,
Susan
