Yellow shoes!

Hi everyone.  Just a quick post to say I'm still plugging away at Eliza, and still in a dust cloud.  He left early today and I have the computer out from the drop cloths.  He finished the drywall and the first coat of mud.  Tomorrow will be the second coat.
In case you're wondering what I'm doing, this was mom's dining room/kitchenette, and there was a wall separating it from her living room where she watched TV.  That area was carpeted and the wood flooring square next to my kitchen entry was her cabinet area for dishes and foods.
The wall is gone, the wiring from it worked back into the walls, ceiling boxes moved, the carpeting will come up along with the wood, and a new floor running all the way into the kitchen and my family room.  My kitchen plans are completed and sent to the designer.  Mom's been gone for 5 years and that's how long it took me to change this.  I still have her 2 marble top provincial tables and such and will find a good home for them elsewhere.  This area will have a large table and chairs for dining, and a few cupboards.  Her bedroom and bath are off of this room.
Now for my shoes.  I love red or yellow shoes.  Reasonable and comfortable flats are not easy to find here but I spotted these sling backs at Sears.  The store ordered them for me in my size with free shipping.  They are as comfortable as Bare Traps and look the same, but these are on sale for $24.99 and they're leather.  I love 'em!!!  If you want yellow shoes, they're here.
I'm attending a shower this weekend and it's a good thing I ran into my cousin yesterday.  She insisted it was Sunday at Pizza Joe's party room.  I said (and I know everything) that it is Saturday, at Pizza Hut.  So after my husband shook his head and walked away, I called my sister.  She verified Pizza Hut as the place, and when I said Bonnie is going to Pizza Joe's, she said - yeah, that's right.  No.  You just verified Pizza HUT!  Well that's not what I meant and they're all the same.  No.  They're not.  And is it the 18th?  Yes, she said, Sunday.  NO!!!  The 18th is Saturday, check your calendar and turn the page to the right month!  I wonder what she put on the invitations.  Now I know what my husband goes through.  He always says that you can put all females in a bag, shake them up, and they come out the same.  I say, you can put all males in a bag, shake them up, and they won't know how to get out.

Have a great weekend - stay safe - thanks for visiting!

NOW I get what you are doing... must have missed something of late, cause it was not 'computing'!! REmodeling is a very stressful process--I need several spots up stairs remodeled, but hubby is not as enthusiastic as me, so... it ages and ages... Sigh! Nice yellow shoes!! Hugs!

I LOVE your new shoes, they look soooo compfy....and very stylish too. I do not envy you your remodel. It would be so nice just to blink and have it all done and I'm sure in the end the results will make it worth all the hassle.

Your home will be lovely once it is all done Marly, personally i dislike builders. One walked out in the middle of my bathroom build, not reliable in the UK.
Love the shoes, look nice with the tanned legs!
The shower, well another funny tale and starts my day with a good laugh.
Have a good weekend:))

I can't wait to see your remodel. You've been working on this for a while..so it can be stressful. I completely understand the sheetrock dust problem...we built our house and I swear years after we moved in...I still was cleaning the dust. Your stitching is always beautiful...so I can imagine your kitchen will be too.

I love the thought of remodeling - hate the reality! Perfect shoes. I will definitely look into those as my summer shoes are sorely lacking.

After just having restored and adding onto this house, I know how hard and frustrating a remodel is!! Even our builder said building a new house is easier! Good luck with everything.... I know it will be fabulous when completed.
Love the new yellow shoes.... My chalky white legs would do no justice to them.... but they look great on you!!
Your conversation regarding the shower sounds like me and my sister.... we never seem to know what end is up.... Between the two of us, we seem to get where/when we're supposed to, but it's never easy! Thanks for the chuckle this morning! Have a happy weekend!

Everything looks like it is coming together, Marly. Cool shoes, too.

Love your shoes!!! I found some really cute red ones at Kohl's last year on sale. They are flats (which I thought would not work for me - but they are quite comfy) - and have the cutest little bow on the toe area....

Great looking shoes...comfy too. Thanks for the laugh ... again.
I too am having difficulty sorting out and disposing Mother's belongings. I have to remind myself that it is the joyful & happy memories that matter.
Can't wait to see your kitchen when finished ... I suspect it will be totally impressive.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend with Peace,
Barb

I'm laughing about the shower...hope enough showed up at the same place...and the same time... so you could play the crappy shower games! If I had known that about men being shaken in a bag, I would have done it at Christmas and gotten some quiet time! Love the shoes...Jan
