Not much stitching - here's why

And the kitchen guy didn't even get back to me yet.  This was just removing a wall by the fridge so I can have a fridge cabinet built, which creates more drywall dust than a new wall!
Here's the floor.
Yes the table is wearing socks.
Here's the other end showing the new doorway.
You can see how many doors I would have had to repaint, because I wanted a different trim color in the new room. The broom closet is a single door but those other two have two doors each.  Closing it off defined the room, the foyer, and the new door to the garage is the only one I need to paint now.  A simple solution and now I can choose any color I want.
But I did get some stitching in and will continue to do so, in 95 degree temps with 2,514% humidity, with a hot pack on my neck so I can look down.  Between the flashes, the temps, and the pack, stick a fork in me - I'm cooked.
And finally - meet the newest members of my crew.
Mickey and Sparky.
These two are Skinny Limper's babes.
So darn sweet!
I'm still cleaning up dust and don't know why because more is to come.  Besides, I want Eliza finished by the end of the week so maybe the dust should stay.  My other project is coming up with the final pear. Can you believe half of July is over already?  Honestly, the graph is a complete blank.   My pear has shriveled up like everything else.

Thanks for visiting!  Stay safe!!

I know how you feel! The house will be so worth it when it is done! As far as the temps, if it were not for a new Grandchild, I would NEVER!! come to Alabama in the summer!

I really do like your kitchen cupboard color and the door color - is it the same? Almost wish I would have done a neutral rather than Cranberry. But I do love my reds.

I went to the quilt store today to buy backing for my Santas that I've stitched to date. If I start backing them now, they might be ready come December! Ha.

You sure are a busy gal. Sorry about your neck.
Your home will be so nice when it's finished.
Your four legged babies are so cute.. Don't have any of those in my yard but have had most everything else. Just had a big, fat raccoon to visit.
Looking forward to your new pear whenever you get it ready. Thank you ! Charlotte

Yes the heatwave is here too, something we are not used to at all, but like it as long as I can stay indoors!
Keep cool and stitch:))

I still remember the first time we remodeled (we added a second floor, with two bedroom, bathroom, utility room and a huge family room, which was over a huge new master bedroom--plus stairs of course!)and how we had to live in dust and dirt for three months! I can imagine how long it would have taken if we had to hire someone! Hope the kitchen guy returns soon! Hugs!

Marly, just think about how nice your new kitchen will look at Christmas! It will be here before you know it...already the middle of July! Whew! These days are flying by! Will be staying tuned for your progress!

You can get awfully sick of drywall dust. It gets everywhere, even taping off doorways. I'm the last to get any work done, the mister is always working at someone else's house!
I can't wait to see more progress on the sampler.
Hugs,
Susan

I feel your pain...we took a window out and decided to just patch the sheetrock...dust is everywhere. We'll be taking another window out of the living room soon...more dust to come. Your kitchen is coming along...can't wait to see the final product. Take care

Ohhhh, you really made me chuckle. Wished I could shrivel up instead of filling out.
Yaaa, another pear!
Your home will be beautiful ... I love it all. The outside area is to die for, especially those babys. I find it amazing to know you will have Eliza done by the end of this week. It would take me half a year.

Much Peace,
Barb
