Finally! What a difference the outline is making. I'm trying to imagine it as a bag with a scalloped top trimmed in brown wool. I considered a wallet type finish using the horse part as the flap instead of the back. I love the design as a whole and don't want to hide those posies and berries in a folded piece so...........probably a pouch of some sort. Being so tired of this piece and all the split linen threads, I'm not sure it will be sewn into anything for a while. But if I don't do it now, it won't get done. Either way, you won't have to look at this l...o...n....g project for much longer. It is pretty though! Certainly not a sampler and I doubt if I will ever stitch another piece that is not.
More snow and ice Wednesday night and I have to go to Ohio for another leg mapping this morning. EVLA again next week and then I am switching to another doctor. It's a long story. And I'm really ticked off.
Another reason to look forward to spring and warmer weather is this little girl. A less than five pound magician. Get out!!!
Squeak is sneezing and has runny eyes which is not good. I can't get an antibiotic for him without them seeing him which is impossible. Getting the meds into him would be also. My brother will try contacting the lady he worked with before for strays and see what she suggests.

Your work is beautiful.. The white outline makes such a difference. I really enjoy seeing any stitching that you do.
May I recommend Gerber chicken baby food to get the meds in the sweet kitty.. That is how I did it with sick kitties that I've had.. They licked the meds in the baby food right off of a spoon. That's if you can get close enough OR you could try putting the baby food/mashed pill on a plate. I hope this will work if you can get something for Squeak.
I hope you can find a new doctor that will be just what you need. I'm really upset with the women in my doctor's office right now..

We only got a dusting of snow here last night, but those howling winds were crazy! I'm off to Ohio today, too, but for a funeral visitation... Good luck with the doctor--hope you can find another you like better...

Several of my kitties are sneezing and having runny nose and eyes, also. Its just a virus they pass around each other, so I think an antibiotic would only weaken his immune system and not help anyway.
Antibiotics only work with infections and it doesn't sound like an infection. Also, when you do need an antibiotic, they offer a shot now that will last for the duration, like 2 weeks or so and you never have to administer the medicine (after they give the shot) So much better for everyone! lol
I just adore that sampler! The colours are just gorgeous. I will stand behind Katrina's question of whether you will publish a chart for this! That would be awesome!

All you frustrations and changing colours really paid off, this is totally beautiful. I really like the big leaf in the middle now and the outining just makes everything pop! Good luck with your sick kitty, its such a worry when they get sick and even worse when you can't handle them.

It's times like these when you wish cats could talk (or at least understand what you're saying) so they know you're trying to HELP not hurt them...
If it is any help, we had an emaciated stray show up several years ago with a cough, runny nose and watery infected eyes. Our vet told us that it was probably viral and that he would get over it on his own, and as far as the eyes, she said that cat eyes are very tricky and the safest thing to do is to rinse the eyes with saline solution. If the cat is wild, good luck with that, but saline did the trick with our guy.
Hi, Marly, You already know how much I love your double horses :) About the kitty, I do know that if yo could get him to the vet they not have an antibiotic shot that stays in their system two weeks. Since that is impossible, I would think that if you called your vet and explained the situation that you absolutely cannot get him in, maybe they would give you some liquid amoxicillin, get a syringe from them and you could just squirt it into his mouth.

Do you have a Feral Cat Coalition type group in your area? They would be a great resource. FYI they also have programs to spay and neuter strays and return them to their loving caretakers. Mouse
See if you can get some Lincosin (a tetracycline) for your kitty! It is much more effective than Amoxicillin! I have seen it save lives of the barn cats where my daughter kept her horse.
