Greetings! I keep seeing posts and pages of early Fall decorating, many excited about the onset of their favorite season. We had nothing but cold and rain all of June, a nice July and part of August, and I've had a heater on for a week. Six weeks was about all I got this year of my favorite season. My house is 64 degrees and I need a sweater in the evening. Morning shoppers have jackets on! Ridiculous. High temps coming this weekend but it's too little too late. It's over and I'm about as crabby as I can be.
My fingers are numb again from my neck after a chiropractic treatment. Hard to hold a needle between the numbness and cold but I'm plugging away at the house. I do the first half of the stitch horizontally using the sewing method, and then the second half vertically. Big areas like this end up looking like corn rows if I follow the same route. A few houses in prior samplers have obvious "rows" going two different directions when I did large horizontal sections and then narrow vertical ones, like between windows. The method works very well for my tension.
The kids have been giving me trouble. Tiny little Missy Midge took off after the baby turkeys, even though big mama bird was right there. Nitzy has spit out and drawn blood three times during a worm pill fiasco. Still didn't get it down. The pill plunger is all the way back but he makes sure he hocks it up every time. Filthy dirty Bud will not leave me alone and obviously the flea stuff isn't working.
The fawns are not around as much but the turkey moms and poults are. Probably because of the very wet and cold spring, they must have lost their first brood and had another because they are very small for this time of year.
The squirrels are happy that without the fawns visiting, there is more bread for them.
No decision on the car yet. I am kind of upset that I am losing my bright yellow Escape. 2003 and it's been perfect, still is. Carole always got her cars from my Dad and he was always upset at what they looked like a year later from neglect. I am already feeling that. I am still considering leasing a mid size sedan for her but what about after the lease ends? One of us may be needing a new car then and I can't do two payments. I hate decisions. And you know I can't make them.

If you can get the pill way back there, pull the plunger out fast and keep his mouth shut tight while blowing on his nose,or stroking his throat or put a few drops of water on his nose and let go. He will lick his nose and should swallow the pill.
What about a new Escape? We have owned two.
Oh boy...alot said, Marly...don't let people upset you on this blogging thing. Just delete their comment..LOL!! We all deserve good things in life...I had to buy a new car also...I had a 2007 Sebring which ran perfect, but the AC stopped working...I hate car payments and would NOT want two payments, even if I could afford it!! Your give-a-aways are extremely kind and generous...I hope you continue with them...love the flip phone!!
Marly, the worm pill comes in a liquid version that is put on the back of the neck just like Advantage. I'm not sure it's OTC in USA but it is in UK and the cheapest place to purchase it is from a vet clinic on ebay. I've been buying it from them for years (not affiliated in any way) and it gets here in about 5 or 6 days. Here's a link:

The dose depends on the size of the cat, some of my cats get 2 vials, etc. I usually buy 4 or 5 boxes at a time to save on shipping. If you need help in dosing you can email me jeannine520@yahoo.com. I have cats who are strongly against pills and after thinking I'd been successful I'd find them on the floor or stuck to the fur on their neck. No more. The deed is done before they even know what hit them and we're all happy. ;-)

We had the hottest and driest summer ever recorded, including double the number of days over 80 and more 90+ than ever! Sorry your summer was so bad!
Cats and pills are very difficult! That's one thing I don't do well at all!

As far as I'm concerned, this has been a crazy year..........the months haven't clicked like they usually do, the weather has been crazy, the time is going by too fast this year and am not looking forward to the politics next year.
I feel for you having to make a decision about your car....I do understand.
Our fur babies are going to the vet today (Sat).. My son and daughter are taking them.. Don't even want to watch my daughter trying to get out girl kitty in the carrier.. It would be great if you could get something like the flea meds to use for worming.

OMG! That is the exact phone I have! I did buy a Forester yesterday and am glad I don't have to deal with that anymore. Totally not my thing. In Northern MN. the winters are long and brutal so the all wheel drive is what sold me. The Outbacks are wonderful too but are 8" longer and I like being able to park anywhere and am not the best at it. I can't wait to show this post to my husband. Summer is also my favorite season and again this year, it hasn't been long enough. Shhh, don't tell my hubby, but I also had the heater on...and used the oven...to get warm last week.
I quit going to the chiropractor for my neck because the pain and numbness always got worse afterwards. Now I go for massages instead and that has made a world of difference for my thoracic outlet syndrome.
We have too much heat and humidity... ick! The seasons seem to be changing... Just wanted to say that looks like my hubby's phone! He cannot handle a smart phone for a variety of reasons...
