Black painted swings. Black tuxedo cats.
Black sampler.
Frances gifted me this sweet sampler, black threads with one other neutral thread in a few places. Not very big, not complicated, I received it in the mail and looked no further for the next project. Still nursing a slump and the less color change and counting the better. Thank you again Frances. My only change (you know there has to be something that bugs me) may be to a higher linen count. This is 28 and I love 30, closing in on 32 recently. I may bundle up my excessive amount of 28 and store it somewhere, and then order small pieces of 30 and 32 because as you know, I can't bring myself to cut a large piece of linen. My reasoning (if you call it that) is that I have several very large samplers and do not want to cut a piece that would be perfect. So I plan to kit those large projects and once the linen is set aside, I'm free to run with scissors. But all these things I say I will do, never get done. My procrastinating affliction is out of control. I made a sampler notebook, and in it will post items that need to be taken care of from simple to complex. Every day, at least one of them must be done or no chocolate. The notebook is staying on the bench by my sofa so it doesn't get lost. Wish me luck.
Finishing on the PS project may be just ordinary. I have a wood box with a recessed flip lid, perfect for a padded top with interior storage but it's just a hair too short for this design. It looks great as a drum, but I cannot find any fabric that is compatible with this blue and there is not enough linen left since it was my test sample. But I can squeak out enough of it for an envelope back. I wanted something different and special but I don't think it will be.
Thanks for visiting.

Your sampler notebook's a great idea! I have a spreadsheet, such a *lovely* spreadsheet, and I can sort the list by designer, or fabric thread count, or by the bag I have the project stored in, or ... well, you get the idea. But I did get some actual stitching done this past weekend (guess I need to remind myself to take a picture and post it).
Your post made me laugh. Maybe I should not eat chocolate until I get some stitching done!
Your swings and patio look very inviting. I really need to do something "for" my swing.
I love the lettering on your new sampler. I hope you'll enjoy stitching it.
The cooler weather we're having is a breath of fresh air. Could stand it all summer.
Happy Wednesday.

Um, I am wishing you luck. I really do hope it works. It sounds great, doesn't it?
Good luck with your sampler notebook! Would love to see a picture of what you are doing with it! I like your new project that Frances gifted you. Has it warmed up a bit for you to use your swing?
I need to do something to organize my patterns. A notebook sounds like a good idea. I have a note book for my audiobook, arranged by author. Patterns could be arranged this way by designer. Marly, I am just like you I hate to cut large pieces . I will order smaller fabric, and still not use large fabric! Really!
Those handsome cats sure know how to lounge. I wish you luck on your endeavor. I try to make "rules" with rewards as motivations for myself but I'm a full-blooded cheater. I make a grand statement like: I won't order another bottle of perfume until my closet is totally cleaned out and organized! All that really means is that I have them shipped to my dad's office so nobody sees them arrive at my door. ;-)
what a couple of beautiful layabouts...nothing v like a tuxie...when you're done with your notebook you can come over and do one for me...I can send a hooked rug home with you (blatant bribe)...
The swing looks great in black. That looks like a great sampler to sit out in the sun and stitch. Of course, I don't sit in the sun, it's too hot for me. Still it looks like a nice simple stitch for summer.
Sweet sampler! Marly, I thought about you and your cats this morning when my little orange stray kitty presented me with a baby bunny for breakfast. He means well I guess. Just will never get used to it:(
