This time, I'm not bugging you for opinions, just showing you what I've chosen.
One of the dresses is 310 black, and it shows well enough on this dark linen, but there is no real distinction like the red. So I started pulling choices and realize now how the floss bags got out of hand and took a half hour to put away. First thought was a deep gold but that didn't pop with the 370 beneath, just sort of blended in. Then I tried the Needle Necessities (which have been hanging around for many years) in red and purple.

Eureka. Boom. The brain is working. I found many colors that work well on this fabric, but I didn't want it to be similar to another used elsewhere in the design. No pinks or blues or mauves. Purple it is. I think it would be appropriate but that's just me. Now to find the right one.
Trying to make it stand proud as the red does, it can't be dusty or muted and I was leaning toward 552. Then I spotted a color in the DMC samples that may be perfect, 3835, but I don't have it. I will shortly! Until then, I will work on the red. I think this will be fabulous.
That's not tent stitch, it's just my way of making frogging easier. Simple rows and borders are never crossed until I know the stitch count is correct. This is probably routine for all of you but no one told me! I had to learn the hard way.

Thanks for visiting!
p.s. I took the compression off and ballooned to hippo foot. Have an appointment next week and may be a non-compliant patient if it's broken. Stopped at the store where it happened today and gave the owner a list of my co-pays for X-ray and testing if needed, requested reimbursement, haven't heard a word.

Lookin' good. I agree that purple is the right choice, can't wait to see some of it stitched.
Purple will look great. A great idea with the stitching, I can see how much easier it would be to remove mistakes!
Loving the choices.
Good luck with your foot.
The colors you picked out really pop on the dark fabric! I'm so sorry about the foot problems!
Looking good! Those colors really "pop" on the fabric! ~ C's Cross Stitch Creations ~ http://christiescrossstitchcreations.blogspot.com/
Well, I think that purple is going to be great! As for the store paying up... they might pass the bills on to their legal counsel. Or they might 'lose' them... So follow up! Often! Just a thought, based on experiences!!
I like how the red and the purple pops! Best of luck on the foot's healing.
Like the colors red and purple on your fabric.
Take care with your foot and can you send the bills by post where they have to sign for receiving the post. Thats what we do so you know they have cannot deny they received the bill.
Good luck and healing.
Greetings Truus from Holland

Love the pop of color, not the pop of your ankle. :( Get in to the doctor!!
Hi there,
I love all your stitching choices, really! You do such beautiful work and I must try Chocolate Coke; I'd never heard of it. Happy Summer Stitching!
It would be a good idea to send the store owner a certified letter enclosing your demands and documentation. The proof that it's been received, and when, could come in handy later.
Playing catch up as usual!
Sure hope you don't have a break, though I've heard a sprain can be worse.
Lovely stitching as always.
Hugs :)
Lauren
I have never heard of not crossing your stitches on borders until you know the count is correct ! Very clever !!!! I'm going to start doing that right away !
