Greetings! Hope your weekend went well. We had friends come in from Nevada and enjoyed some time with them. The rest of the weekend was leaf blowing and painting.
We finally heard back from the contractor, with apology, and he offered another name and phone number for the siding/windows. So I called, he answered, and is coming out this week to take a look and offer suggestions. I made clear that it will not be vinyl, silence on the phone. We'll see. But whether it be him or the contractor, spring will probably be the time frame.
So I went to work with paint brush in hand, and did the doors back to the original color before they faded to a light gray. What a difference. At least the house is presentable until the work can be done.
You can't see how bad the cedar is from the road (except for one side) and with the doors and their trim a solid paint color it looks so much better. The weathered cedar planks on the front door were weathered to a light beige and I didn't want them dark but it was all I had on hand. I love it.
The only color I have is the flag, rust, and a seasonal flower.
Mammo and doc week for my sister and I. Hope you all get your boobies checked annually.
Have a sweet day!

Marly,
I LOVE your house style and choice of color. Is it a vintage home. How lucky for you, we have nothing like it in California, unless someone has it built to custom specs.
Marly it looks wonderful...hope this contractor works out...love your outside shots of fall, my yard is awful...between the terrible lawn service I chose this year and my lack of effort...going to put a few charts on eBay myself...3 Goode Huswif found in my stash...
Your house is beautiful! We had a small salt box for our first house with the natural siding weathered to gray and I don't go by it any more because new owners have something light now that looks so unnatural. Maintenance is difficult but whatever you do never do vinyl please. So much power washing, we have it in white that replaced aluminum with hail damage on our house that is combined 1950s and1860s farmhouse. Because of different sidings on each we have to have something and even Hardy plank cement board would be better but recently some carpenters told me there is a better product available. I wish you much success on your project!
Beautiful, welcoming front door!

Everything looks beautiful. Congratulations on getting that done.
My daughter and I plan on working on the yard this coming weekend. It needs a lot of attention.
Happy Autumn.

Love that front door color and you did great on the garage. I'm thinking of darkening up our house color. Love the primitive look.
Front door is a beautiful color! It all looks so nice - hope you find the right guy to do the work on the siding.....
Hi Marly: Please give your sister a hug and wish her well for me.
Love the color of the front door.
I know how so many contractors want to do vinyl that is what we have but will be changing in the next two years we get new windows and patio doors next month, yahoo.

Your home is absolutely beautiful! I love that porch! Did you design the home plan or use a pre-existing pla? At any rate a very nice job.
Your home is so wonderful!
Yup! Get the tatas smashed annually without fail.
Hugs :)

Good job painting the two doors--they look great! I do hope that you find some good contractors for next spring! Hugs!
