that a person whose sewing room is always a complete disaster would be bothered by a design being a few stitches out of balance. Symmetry is pleasing and important to me, yet my fabric and scrap piles are varying heights. I did not realize the top vases on each side were not level. I do now. Should I have checked this before? Not if I planned to follow the chart of a reproduction, but yes if I need balance. Will I remove and re-stitch to align those vases or let this irk me every time I see it? You tell me.
Not every day produces progress. Poor Petey.
Have a good day folks.

Oh, I know that I would have to remove the stitching and start again. I too desperately need that symmetry.
I rarely in my life fudge on stitching. I just did. And it is on a symmetrical heart for the engagement piece I am making the kids! I was 90% done with it, and I CANNOT FIGURE OUT WHERE THE PROBLEM IS! I am not throwing it out!
I love your big ol' pot of petunias out back with the cats!
I am walking on the treadmill as I type this. I am about to stop and go get a big piece of Death By Chocolate Zucchini Bread that SOMEBODY gave me the recipe to! ;) Do I regret you gave it to me?! NO WAY!
Marly, if you are like me,and I think you are, the frog will be paying you a visit and the vases will be even! Just think how much fun you'll have stitching it again! I hope the weather is as beautiful in PA as it is in WI. Enjoy!
Thanks for all the advise on dealing with the cats in my flower bed, from you and your followers.

Since it was charted that way and not your error, I say leave it the heck alone :)
Marly, I kind of like it wonky! It's such a cool looking sampler. Sweet Petey, I would love to squeeze that boy. I think the furrballs need more time, he knows he has love and kindness at your home.
Well, Petey may not be making progress...but you are....and splendid progress I'd say (unless, of course, you decide to rip that one vase out and have a do-over). This may surprise you...because I have an OCD gene...and love me my symmetry...but I would leave this one be...it is, after all, a reproduction and this was how the original was....besides, if you move that, then you'll be fudging that rest of the things below it. There's something to say for walking on the asymmetrical side once in a while. ;-) ~Robin~
I would definitely let the stitching be! Too lazy to pluck it out and re-do.
I like symmetry too, but I think I would leave the vase as is. Love how great your supertunias are looking!
I think if you remove the vase you'll want to remove the border its resting on !! it's a reproduction so I would definitely live with it - its part of its charm.- Chrisy -
I would be bothered too. I usually leave mistakes if no one can tell because I’m sure, years later, that I will have forgotten where it was too
Oh my, a dilemma. I am not a true reproduction stitcher. I make changes all the time, I don't believe I have to stitch it exactly as it is on the design - I want it to please me. If I like it wonky I might leave a bit of a miss but I sat just yesterday and took thread out to get it pleasing for ME. My problem is that if I see something really wonky and off, I will always see that and not the whole design. Good luck - can't wait to see what you decide.
I agree with "Rugs and Pugs".........
Sure do wish Petey had a buddy.
Your flowers are lovely. Enjoy the little things in life. I'm trying to.
Have a good, uneventful rest of the week.

I would not have noticed if you had not mentioned the difference. If it really really bothers, by all means redo it. But before that, what about trying to add another flower or two to the vase on the right?. Or extend the top border. If you move the vase, how much of the right side border would need redone as well?
As others have said, it’s a reproduction so I would leave it but here is an alternative. Frog just the vase and move it up and even, then add to the slanty line of stitches that come out of the bottom of the vase. Hope I explained that clearly. It’s a joy to see your kitties and petunias. Thank you.
If it's going to irk you every time you see it, then I say re-do it. You don't want to be annoyed by this forever. (I like symmetry, too. It would drive me nuts.)
