My overdyed came in today and it won't work. It could, but not if I want to be happy. The 738 is more apricot-ty but the conversion to Weeks recommended this Gold. Nope. A nice gold, sort of greenish, not a good fit with the other colors. I could follow the chart but I still think the large house in a solid will be a little flat. But flat it may be.
I'll continue with the body until I decide on another order for an overdyed or the time consuming brick pattern.
I bought a bag of Reese's cups Saturday afternoon, ate them until the bag was empty on Monday evening. What is wrong with me? Good thing I don't care for alcohol. That started a viscious carb cycle ending tonight with the chocolate zucchini bundt cake. Complete lack of self control when it comes to sweets. I can tell myself not to take another, know that it's ridiculous, have a talk with myself about it. But you know, she's a crabass and a little pushy which triggers a spiteful response. So I ate them.
My oh my. What a piggy.

Marly, first it was Halloween and second it's 2020. Eat what makes you happy and don't look back. Hope you find a thread that works. How's Petey doing? I was reading your blog back aways and saw where he took a swipe at you. My boy does that, he will nip at me. It's when my hand is coming up around from his neck. I know some cats get excited/over stimulated or startles. Hope that's better. Enjoy your chocolate!
In 1984 I ate too many peanut butter cups, double packs. They were good, they were my kids Halloween candy. I was shameless, gained 10 lbs, still have them to this day, I could even show you where they are!
The thread color is always a thing, isn't it? Well, because of your color sense, I stopped the painting of the kitchen cabinets. The white they showed me was all wrong, all wrong, a little pinky in one light, a little greenish in another light. You have taught me a valuable lesson, thank you. I think I've got it now!
I can see why it is hard to decide on the house color! I am still hitting the Halloween candy, Oh dear! the stresses of 2020. I have had patches in my master bedroom for 2 years. Can you believe that during a pandemic I decided to have the room painted. Just can't stand it another month. I think I am crazy!
I kitted up a sampler a couple of years ago (that I still haven't started!) but I distinctly remember switching out the 738 for a hand-dyed. I went to Needle in a Haystack and bought about 4 or 5 possibilities so depending on my linen color I'd have one that worked. Well, as soon as I saw this post I immediately went in search of that one gallon ziplock that contains all the threads for that particular sampler and of course......I can't find it!! I've ransacked my entire stash, my closet, my husband's closet and his office in search of it. I even bribed my kids to help me look. Still can't find it but won't be defeated. Off to ransack the game closet....
Sorry to read the new floss wasn't the ticket.... And strange thing....but I am struggling with a color thing myself...with DMC 838.... It's a design I started a while (several years?) ago...and, true to form, never questioned the called-for linen or flosses...even though the photo of the finished design was horribly unclear....and as I stitched, I decided I did not care for any of the color plan actually. I think that is why I set it aside and was slow to pick it up....but I did...and I still hate the colors, but am too far to change things out now....EXCEPT the 838 is one of my very most unliked....and, although not fun, I could redo.... I was going to do a post tonight pleading for suggestions, but didn't get that far.... I feel an overwhelming need to "unplug" so am hoping to head to the lake tomorrow....not sure when I will be able to post....but now I do truly understand the angst you go through...and wonder why it is only now you are wearing off on me in that regard LOL. (Now the sweet binging thing? Well, that I had down pat long before I met ya....And you wouldn't believe how much candy I bought this year....more than ever because I had to go to many different stores to find things I was looking for and couldn't remember what I had bought....and gee, had no trick or treaters. :-( ~Robin~
ooops...436...not 838.....
Personally, I think those pb cups lasted a fair while - am sure I'd have finished 'em on Sunday. 😉
Perhaps GAST brandy? Or their pumpkin patch looks like it could be promising but I don't have any of that color so am only guessing. I always look for overdyed colors at etsy since I find the largest pics there, lol.
I had an awful time with a peachy color in a large sampler and ended up swapping colors twice in the course of stitching. So there are three different threads for one "color" - too much to frog and who will know other than me?
