Did I stitch last night?

Hell no.  Totally consumed by favors for one sister and one brother, and many hours wasted trying to reason and explain.  Carole baked and sent Chris here with my favorite soft as a pillow sour cream jumbles.  Also Chex party mix but I cannot partake because of the salt since I am already in flames like a stitching project that ticked me off.

Tomorrow is pick up day for Carole's groceries after making an inside store trip for our needs and hers at a local grocery today.  Fill the propane tank for winter grilling, check the phone Chris is getting because the techie contradicted too many important facts, return a few items to Kohls, call the vet again for Bud, Carole is coming to get her groceries and I'll cut her hair.  But not until I have a BK mocha iced coffee and sit for while. Wednesday is a new doctor for me mid day but I may need to take Chris to the clinic for his diabetic retinopathy.  If they treat to stop the bleeding that day he'll need a driver and I'll probably reschedule mine.  Find out tomorrow.

We aren't getting together for Christmas because of the virus but of course, Carole will not stay away from Chris's grandchildren so she is having them over next week.  We've had a craving for the ham & swiss Hawaiian bread sliders with the poppy seed dressing so we got everything today.  Easy, everyone loves them, funeral potatoes on the side, cream corn casserole in crock pot.  Delivery on Friday!

We have not seen the kitten again and I don't know if it ran away because of seeing me or Petey.  He wasn 't around at the time so the little one may be very skittish and seeing me in the door caused it to bolt.

Days begin to lengthen, closer to summer we creep.  I am hearing some choice words coming from another room, Steelers must not be doing well.

Hope your week is pleasant!!

Days begin to lengthen but thankfully the days will still be shorter for a couple more months. I love the colder, shorter days. I'm going to enjoy them while I can. When we get to June I can look forward to the days getting shorter and celebrate that summer is almost over and start counting down to Fall and the end of summer. If I had it my way I'd totally skip over June, July and August. Can you tell I hate summer? Those ham and cheese sliders sound yummy. Maybe we'll do that with our Christmas leftovers. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

I too had a few choice words for the Steelers last night! Hopefully they're done with their "slump" and can forge ahead to a better season end.

I welcome any and all extra minutes of daylight!!!
My older son living in Las Vegas is still a die hard Cleveland Browns fan. Last night while we were on the phone he had the game on in the background and was delighted how it was going. By your blog post, I'm guessing the Steelers lost. My son always says his two favorite teams are the Browns and anyone playing the Steelers...lol!
Merry Christmas

You've had some busy days...and then some. I have tried desperately to avoid stores of any kind these past few weeks, and especially days - even more than I typically do. I had to go in today...was not a pleasant experience...for me either. ;-) The cookies look and sound enough to try....if I were inclined to bake anything this year...but I am not. Is Christmas over yet???? ~Robin~

Your food really sounds good! We are just having like a meal I might make for quests during any old time. Nothing too fancy just a bit of a treat! Yes, i am glad the solstice has passed. Clouds all day and dark by 4:30 is very depressing! That's what life is like in the pacific NW.

Thank you for the recipe! I’ve never had These cookies. As far as football goes. Nope. My ex was a sport fanatic. When he left so did sports. I’ve never looked back.

Oh, you are so crazy busy, Marly. I can't imagine all that running around--you are the best sister/aunt anyone could ask for. Thank you for the recipe--they sound wonderful! I already did my baking for this year (not nearly as much as usual) and made old family recipes to honor my loved ones. Unfortunately, there was not a bit of chocolate in any of them :(

So looking forward to longer days--I really need more light in this gray western PA winter! Take care of yourself now and I hope you can relax at some point! Merry Christmas ♥

I hope you got your stitching in last night! I hope sister/brother/nephew also know they'll be up the creek should something ever happen that you can't do for them like you do. I ignore sports, when I was working and we got off days between Christmas and New Years, I was so disappointed about sports on all channels until we got cable (no internet with blogs and Flosstube in those days).

the cookies sound sort of like a chocolate cookie I have made - sticky dough and cakey when done.
