You were right

Thank you!  Rust was the preferred color, and it is absolutely the right choice.  I didn't release the spool huggers from the rolled top area but when I did, oh my.  The blue would have been very distracting and overpower the softer colors but really didn't see that until viewing the entire piece.

With the outer border being the same, this rust will be perfect.

I've been stitching with breaks this afternoon, but struggling.  By bedtime, this entire bottle of drops will be used.

I am using a larger needle, easier for me to hold, but this floss is nothing like before.  And I offered hundreds of my excess old DMC, never imagined it would be preferred.  This example of separating and then breaking off is after two pulls to remove.  Time after time this happened and the 500 is doing the same.  In my decades of stitching exclusively with DMC, and the tremendous amount of frogging, this may have happened twice when tugging hard.  With the new floss, nine out of ten times!  My eyes were not this bad when I began Elizabeth, no frogging, so I don't know if the rust shreds.

Carole is having breathing difficulty again and is calling Cleveland Monday, could be taking her soon.  Rules may still be one person per patient, and depending on how I feel I may stay home anyway.  Mark is very concerned knowing that I cannot take the vaccine and doesn't mind taking her himself.

This is an old photo of the Nit, but maybe how some are feeling today.

Or maybe curling up with another feels better.

Enjoy the first weekend of the new year.  And that's the last reference to 2021.  Do you tire of hearing about it?  It's just a number reminding us of how quickly we're aging.

Happy weekend !
I've found that in the little bit of stitching that I do, the DMC (new skeins) does fray more than usual. Don't know what size needle it is, but has a big eye.
Hoping Carole will be okay. Always something to worry about. Thank goodness for Mark.
Thinking about Bud.
2021-2024 seems like empty years to me......not happy.

Happy New Year - hoping this year finds you healthy and safe, along with all family.
The sampler looks great and the colors are so warm and compliment each other.
Have a great weekend.

Happy New Year, just has to be better then the last few years. I too have noticed my thread frayed more too. I have changed needles and still no difference, this happens on DMC as well as "fancy floss". Makes for an unhappy stitcher here! Hope
bud is doing better, my two have developed an occasional cough. Waiting a bit to drag them to the vet, I have never had a cat with a cough before. My female has a delicate cough ,the male sounds like he is coughing up a lung! It is getting less so I think they will be ok. The care and be well.

Marly: Happy New Year, hopefully it will be a better year but I have my doubts, but hey that is just me.
I do like Elizabeth, I think rust is a beautiful choice.
You have done a great deal of stitching, I just hope your eyes get better, taking drops is hard at least for me.
I am sad to hear Carole is having troubles, I hope she gets to the doctor soon, it is so very kind of your husband to offer to take her you are a lucky lady to have him.
Blondie the cat says hello to all your babies.

Love the rust! What a difference it makes. This sampler is going to be such a beauty! I am not good at color planning and am in awe of those who are. Hugs.

I’m a long time reader but I don’t comment very often. I have Lupus and have the very dry eyes and I wondered what drops you are using! I use Systaine . My doctor gave me about 4 or 5 names to check prices but do not use generic or store brands. I was wondering if you were told the same thing. Hugs,

Hmmmm...this post wasn't showing up yet for me when I commented on your last one.... Oh well, yes...the rust looks great! And you already have my 2 cents about the floss issue. You've made a lot of progress. I am a pathetically slow stitcher. Love those photos of the kits. 2 days into the new year and I am not impressed. ~Robin~
