What a sweet sampler.
Pineberry Lane Mary Edmondson 1812
Saltbox Stitcher's video last night introduced me to Mon Petit Examplaire sewing bag in the BBD Ooh La La book. LOVE. And my usual restrictive spending philosophy (thanks mom) has always denied purchasing an entire book for one chart.
I can easily find a small sampler and adapt. Mary seems to be a good size and I have fabrics that would go nicely, but there is too much to see and enjoy to be gathered. A simple sampler would work better as BBD proved.
Without a top closure and finished like Rosanna Pinkham, seems like a good option. Although I love seeing homes loaded with wall displays, it's not for me. And a bag can be moved frequently from room to room without nary a nail hole, and filled with seasonal crap.
Carole is quite weak today, and the addition of Jardiance after days of the double diuretic, two new heart meds, increases in two others, it's no wonder. I'm waiting for a call because I believe the overload of thinners is why another issue presented last night.
No sweatshirts or jackets today, but eyes are so bad I can't go outside, barely able to tolerate indoor light.
Hope you day is special. The older we get, uneventful is more important!!

Marly: Lovely finish, I am like you I do not like a wall loaded, less is more.
A bag is a wonderful idea, I agree with you you can put in different items (crap) giggles.
So sorry to hear Carole is still having problems.
I feel so bad your eyes are still having problems.
Stay Strong

I am in love with Mary. Such a sweet little sampler...I just may have to buy that chart!!!
Marly, I love your sweet sampler and her colors. I’ve stitched a few Pineberry Lane pieces but will now have to look for Mary. I’m so sorry about all the problems with Carole’s medications. I remember with my Mom that there were so many meds that we felt we were on a wheel. You know......the kind they sell for pet guinea pigs!! I’m keeping you and Carole both in my thoughts and prayers for peaceful days. Cherie in WI
Sounds like you've gotten several of us hooked on Mary.... Such much interest and punch of a much larger piece in a manageable (stitch-wise) size for those of us who get "sidetracked." I have the Ooh La La book...and really like it. I did the one little pin keep from it right away and have several more ear-marked....then again, I have 101 BBD designs ear-marked. Oye. Hot here....upper 80's for the past week, but I'm at the lake and there is always a breeze here. Storms coming in tomorrow I hear. ~Robin~
Your sampler is beautiful and I like the red color although I am more a blue or aqua color lover.
Your sampler would be nice to display with Christmas.
Poor Carole still so bad with all these medicines-- sometimes they don't go well together....
So sorry to hear your eyes are still so bad.
Take care and sending love and healing prayers for all of you.
Big hug, Truus from Holland
Beautiful stitching and finishing. Keeping you’s in my prayers
This is gorgeous, Marly! I don't have the wall space for walls of samplers--too many windows (which I love!) so a pouch finish like the one you're thinking of would be a great option. Will have to remember that.
I hope your eyes are having better days by now. I too pick up BBD books and like one or two patterns, then put it back. Then later I see the other patterns stitched up and wish I had bought those books. I guess one advantage of being a pathetically slow stitcher is I don't have to worry so much about what to do with finished projects.
