Better than orange or yellow, without this highlighter marking the completed stitches, a disaster would ensue. I have trouble with motifs and especially meandering borders, even when one color. The grapevine and curly cues of several color changes would have caused so much frustration that I may have stopped work on Rachel. Why the other colors are not as helpful, don't know. But I (and all other stitchers) are grateful for highlighters in any color! Much less counting which usually ends in misplacement. And surprisingly, just following the completed stitches has resulted in not one error of this PITA border.
I have used several colors to mark the chart and distinguish the color changes, and it helps also, but I found that just greening what I completed every time I need a new thread is (for me) a greater help.
We needed to get Carole a new TV for her room and I told husband that after a month, I wanted to check my stamina outside of home. Don't have an answer as to why since home isn't that great, but ..... 'ya know. He dropped me at the door, I grabbed a buggy as an aid and walked very slowly. By the time he parked and came in my knees were rubber. But we got the TV, she wants a haircut and wash, a shopping list filled, so I guess we will be making the drive Thursday and take care of this.
Today we went to the Italian store in Youngstown, it's a very small shop, and I did OK. Except for the pounds that will result from our purchases. The frozen wrapped manicotti were gone, the only ravioli left were lobster and veal (I don't eat babies), as were the prepared cavatelli and other dishes I usually get. The only place to get large frozen bags of washed and cut mixed greens for wedding soup, and their various size meatballs are fabulous. When Carole made the soup she pressed the meat mixture into a cookie sheet and then cut into mini squares after roasting. And oh my their home made sausage, mild, hot, briar hill. Stop it.
It's sunny and a little warmer, but I can't push it so won't be removing summer items from the deck to be stored. Maybe tomorrow, a little at a time.
Hope your day is swell!

Slowly but surely you will be able to do a little bit more each day. I am sure it is frustrating. I keep praying for all of you.
Happy to hear you got out of the house and did ok. One day at a time.
I'm sure Carole will be very happy to finally see you...especially since you are bringing her a new TV ;-)
It sounds as though both you and Carole are making progress toward healing. (For the record, I haven't gotten my fall cleanup done outside yet either....this unusually mild weather here lulled me into thinking I had all the time in the world. I didn't. Ground is hardened...Snow this weekend. Grrrr....I mean Brrrrr..... That Italian store sounds amazing! To be able to buy REAL pasta frozen! Wow. The joys of living near civilization. Sigh. ~Robin~
Well, that is wonderful. Remember "baby steps!" The recovery phase varies among everyone I have had contact with. Only you can read your body and your response to increased activity. I like your marking method, I really like the green too, I think it is easier to see against the black lines of the chart. Always thinking you are!
Have no fear, I have no excuse, my Fall clean up is only half done too, I rationalize it by thinking tomorrow is another day. Tomorrow is tomorrow, supposed to get cold and I do not do cold!
Take your time. No rush, you'll get there. And do take care of yourself. I'm with you, eating veal is guilt inducing, so I don't.
Happy to hear you went outside doing some shopping.
Hope you can make it to see Carole this week and she will be delighted with her new tv for sure.
Don't overdue now, there will be more days to clean up outside.
That's what I am thinking and don't have time to clean up outside because I am in the middle of moving house in a few weeks time.
Take care both of you, still sending prayers and lots of love, Truus from Holland
Good Wed. morning, So glad to hear that you got out and about. Take baby steps and you'll get your strength back in short time.
Also glad that you appetite is coming back.
Prayers for Missy. She may have a blockage.
You, Mark, Carole and Chris are always in my thoughts and prayers.
Root pulling day for my daughter. She doesn't want me to go with her.
Hugs,

Highlighters near samplers….scare me to death. I use KOH-I-NOOR pencils. They are soft like an artist pastel pencil. Glad you got out of the house for a bit.
I used to use highlighters, but too many times having to go back and redo - how to unmark the chart?! So I now use plain pencil, so I can erase as needed. My fall cleanup is as done as it will get. I use the excuse of leaving places for the native lady bugs and pollinators to winter over in. I wore jeans for the first time since last spring - I may need to rethink wearing stretchy pants at home constantly. I'm glad you are on the mend, I bet getting out of the house felt good, even if tiring.
I'm so glad you were able to get out a bit, Marly! I'm sure you're feeling quite cooped up after all of this. Hope you can sit outside in the sunshine today--the colder weather is moving in for the weekend. I should really remember to use highlighters more often on my work copies. I'm sure it helps aging eyes. Continue to pace yourself and I have no doubt you'll be back to normal very soon ♥
Easy as you go... You are handling the essentials and the outdoors will look Autumnly
until you get to it. So glad you ventured out and about and found you could hold your
own. Hope your time with Carole goes well. Your devotion to her is inspiring. Praying steady progress for you, Carole and Mark in healing and recovery. When our local bank
changed hands and reopened, their theme color was that bright green (quite appropriate)
of your marker and they even awarded a bright green bicycle as an opening day prize ... It has become THEIR color, eye-catching and easy on the eyes. As an example, when I saw your green, I thought of them... a very clever marketing tool....
So happy to read that you are trying to go out and about. You are getting better but take it slow. Sounds like Carole is doing better too. Prayers for continuing progress.
