or face a slump. I was close, need to do better.
Not making much progress on Mary Bell. Lots of crap happening and being the only one in my family that knows everything, it falls in my widening lap. Being right all the time, is a curse.
As for Carole's return, we all have doubts. In PA, and I assume other states, there is an option when you qualify for Medicaid and skilled care. The program is called Waiver and she can transition to home care, back to skilled facility if needed. She will have help at home, not 24/7, but they will determine which Waiver program is required. From limited care to enable the person to stay at home, to extended care for disabled, brain injury, developmental, aging, if qualified. Cheaper than nursing home, most times better for the patient. The caregiver can be from an agency or even a friend or family member (including parent or child), they will be paid by the state. A great deal of fraud happens as with all aid programs here that our agencies do not check. I will not be that caregiver. Twenty years of it, time for me to have a little freedom (I'm 71 + 3 days and can't believe it). But now there is a new wrinkle. Huge wrinkle. A crevice. More like a crevasse. Pretty fricking deep.
I hope you all have a good weekend. I'm starting Varithena treatments again on Monday. Yippee.
Be safe!!

Hi Marly: That is a beautiful start and design.
I do hope it works out for Carole, you are an amazing woman and need some you time.
I have my veins pemenantly close off with a glue, the insurence would not pay for the other treatments.

My mother is on the Nursing Home Transition and Diversion program. I am not sure this is what you are talking about, but my mother currently gets 24/7 care. I hope it all works out for you. Right now it is very, very difficult for any agency to find aides. Just a heads-up. Take care of yourself. Your flowers are very pretty.
Oh my dear, such a dilemma. I have a friend who is the caregiver for her mentally challenged sister. For years she has cared for her and only last year became the designated person who is paid. Now, there are qualifications, training, etc. but manageable for her. She is much younger. This role is better suited to a younger person, someone with the desire to commit to the program. Finding caregivers now is very difficult. I wish you the best. Your sister has been blessed to have you all these years, now is time for you to be able to step back. I don't want to sound "preachy" but I have learned how to say no. Well, at least I try.
If anyone can rescue those petunias it is you. Best wishes with the new medications.
The petunias you bought are beautiful.
A late happy Birthday to you and wishing you a very good year with lots of me-time for you.
It sounds good the help for Carole and hope she will have a nice person to take care of her.
Your stitching is lovely and wishing you a lot of joy to stitch this design.
Have a good weekend, Truus from Holland
That's wonderful news on the assistance for Carole. I hope it all works out, not only the programs having enough caregivers, but people Carole likes to work with. It's past time to pass the torch for her care to others.
I don't think I've heard of SuperCol petunias, then again, I didn't get anywhere but the farm & grocery stores for plants and flowers this year, and they aren't known for carrying the newest varieties. They are very pretty.
Late Happy Birthday wishes to you! I hope it was a good day. That last part about a new wrinkle/crevasse is concerning though.
Happy belated birthday. I hope it works out for Carole.
Belated Birthday Wishes! I hope the day was good to you. Mary is looking mighty fine...I did not realize she was so diminutive...how sweet! And I wish you could reproduce that linen you dyed for her...I really like it. Wish I could have something done with my veins. They have deteriorated (or should have I say "enlarged") so very quickly. ~Robin~
Just have to iron out those crevasses in your life...enuff! 40 ct. piece is lovely and bless your eyes for what they can still achieve.
The finish promises to be very special. Have a relaxing weekend and
continued prayers for all in Carole's homecoming.
Happy belated birthday!!!
Hopefully all will work out for Carole, either at home or the SNF, that will be the easiest for you. You go above and beyond. She doesn't realize all you have done. She is lucky to have you for a sister.
