#3 and the Stitching Station

I've named my modified tray table the Stitching Station.  It is!  I can hang four projects at once, bags and all along the sides.  Not sure if the bags will stay but certainly the floss rings will.

I have magnets on a raised strip so I can easily grab my scissors, and magnetic strip for holding working needles.

I can pull it over my lap and have a large surface to work from.  If Missy or my bladder requires a quick dash, the table with all my doodads is simply pushed aside.  Want to move to another room?  So so easy.

This organization station will make a huge difference for me since most times, items are piled to a side table, some hit the floor, some require a search to find again.  YAY!!!

This added bonus is a real help also, you know, because of continually changing threads!  The DMC book slides right under the tray and is held by the legs' hardware.  Perfect!!
And this is #3, Kezia Turnock.  I never received a reply from Sassy Jacks about the symbol error, and since the over one chart's vine is 3031, that is what I chose to use.  From Robin's research of the chart, it would appear to be 310 since that color symbol .... well .... too much for a menobrain to explain. I'm using 3031 for that symbol in the border, but elsewhere will use the 310.

The linen is 36 Affogato, way too green, and very very similar to the Tobias of Jane that is also very green.  I've heard from others about their Tobias and it is the gorgeous amber mottle of my other piece.  Nothing like Jane's piece.  So after many obscenities and a bit of chocolate, I ordered a piece of Confederate Gray.  Why?  Don't have an answer, it just popped into my head and I hope it's a nice color and works with Jane's brights and pastels.

Going to see Carole tomorrow, the sore throat is gone, never blew my nose but stuffy, now a cough that can call in wildlife.  I can't take cold meds or some cough, not a good idea with my level of Sjogrens (decongestants dry you).

Have a good day folks!

You need to patent this idea LOL. Like I said, brilliant. Kezia hurt my head too. Good luck with the visit. ~Robin~ (For the record, I love Confederate Grey.)

Wow, Marly! I love your Stitching Station! Like you, I always have “stuff” piled on the end table, which ends up on the floor, and threads hanging off the arm of the chair and end up on me! Your start on Kezia is very pretty and the linen looks perfect! I seem to have the same “crud” you have......sinus headache, stuffy nose and a cough. Negative covid tests but, of course, it’s the first thing you think of! Hope your visit with Carole goes well! Cherie in WI

Your "workstation" is perfect. And yes, I can see a special order business from this. I have a great little armchair tray I purchased from Notforgotten Farm, it is a bit small I find.

Now, of course, I gave away a selection of these tray tables just two years ago. I didn't want to but husband was calling me a hoarder and I showed him, didn't I? So now I will be on the hunt. I love this idea. I had a similar setup years ago but I had it lightly padded and covered with white flannel, that kept my stuff from sliding around. Thanks for the photos and the explanations, hope your visit goes well. I have had a bit of a sneezy-sort throat-feeling blah situation as well. Much like a common cold, lasted about 4-5 days. Test neg. Now I feel fine.

Super practical, a place for everything. I love it! I normally pile my stuff on the edge of a table where my cats are constantly jumping up onto it in order to see what I'm doing. Great idea!

A great work space for all the stuff you needed to stitch!
Have some side tables and thinking of doing this in the same way.
At the moment I have a small table easel for painters, that I am using for my stitching stuff. Only the materials I am working with, can on this easel.
Have a great day with Carole, Truus from Holland

I like how you've made your table work for you. I swapped out the tray from my stand to have a longer piece of wood to clip my light and pattern holder on. Not pretty, but it works and that's what counts.
I've been having sinus headaches, but then figured out it was only after digging up grass around the asparagus. I guess I inhaled too much dirt while shaking it off the grass roots.
Good news on the floss issue, and I'm glad you're feeling better. Hope Shaker Woods is in your plan for next weekend.

Look at you! Such a great idea you've come up with and one I'm sure many stitchers will be imitating! I just keep my "stuff" for my current project in a large tray on the sidetable and then I can easily pick it up and shove it under the couch to hide it when unexpected company shows up. Shhh... don't tell anyone :) Hope you continue to feel better and that cough goes away--enjoy your visit today ♥

I have a wooden TV tray that sits beside my Featherweight machine. I made it into an ironing board so I don't have to keep getting up when sewing quilt pieces. So now I am going to get another one after seeing your idea and not seeing my chair side table that is covered in threads, needles, etc. I hardly have place for a drink on the table! Also, after seeing Jane Southward I have ordered the pattern and Cocoa linen. When I looked at your start and compared it with the pattern I thought your vine needed to be a tad darker but that is my eyes through my computer screen. You have the best view!

Marly: Love your table, may have to steal that idea if I can find a used table at the goodwill, not paying 45.00 for a new set which I would not use the other three.
Happy visiting with carole.
