No!!!!!

Good grief.
**********************
The result of my latest eye exam from a new doctor is simple.   Aside from the dryness haze and discomfort, the cause of blurred vision both near and far is ..... the wrong prescription lenses.  He cut distance in half and increased near by twice.  Well.  That's better.  Good thing I changed docs.

Stitchers rave about Lakeside linen and since nearly impossible to find these days, I ordered small pieces of the famed colors from an online shop.  I could finally see what the fuss is about, one piece was perfect for two berries and the other for a small sampler.  Love the colors.  But one was listed as 11 x 19 and that was incorrect.  It is actually 11 x 9.  The price for that tiny piece .... not something I would have paid had I known.  Yes, I contacted and explained, politely .... no offer to correct.
The End.

Today is the last day before temps in the 50's for the next ten days.  Absolutely no warmth this fall, it's been more like end of October since the end of August.  So I chewed my Advil and will do some shrub planting, Mark is ordering the wood for a small deck to cover the sewer project mess, and if they ever show up I will show them the door.  I understand, everyone is busy, but have the courtesy for a repeat client to be honest that you will not get to their job.

Chicken breast, garden peppers, onion, marinara sauce in crock today.  Browned the peppers and onions first for more flavor and a good start to soften.  Over polenta?  Rice?  I think I'll try a new brand, an instant polenta.  My dad used to spread it flat on his dish and top with tomato sauce, shredded Romano.  I seem to be revisiting those days of long ago more often.  Remember?  When there was civility and mutual respect regardless of who you were, and you didn't continually hear the f-word from young moms and their kids in every store.  Ah.  Those f-ing good old days.

So glad you found a "good" eye doctor who apparently knows his occupation! I hope the help continues.
Dinner sounds really great. Wish I lived near by and could help you eat it.

Hopefully the prescription adjustment is just what you needed. How could a doctor be so wrong.
Beautiful day today and tomorrow, then it's downhill. We desperately need rain and nothing really in the forecast for the next 10 days!!!

You crack me up...Here I was waxing all nostalgic thinking of my dad and his milk toast and tomato sandwiches and then the punch line. LOL. I hope the new prescription helps. I went for my eye exam last month...not good news in that department either. She said my eyes are "deteriorating" at a "somewhat alarming pace." I think I want a do-over on my entire body some days. "S" is in the forecast for tomorrow. Just flurries...but still...! It's just the beginning of October. Grrrr. ~Robin~

What?? The “S” word is in the forecast for Nod?? I’m not too far from there and it’s way too soon for that!!
Marly, I hope your new Dr. can help you out with your eyes. It seems to be a good start with your prescription. You have no luck at all when it comes to ordering fabric online. But, the shop should of done something to compensate you if the piece is 10” shorter than advertised.
I do remember when civility and respect were the norm. That seemed to go out the window about 6 yrs.. ago and I’m not sure what we can do to put the worms back in the can! Vote for civility, I guess! Have a good weekend! Cherie in WI

Your crock pot meal sounds delicious. It's been raining here on and off for five days straight and will be raining well past the weekend. I don't mind though. I love rain. Civility and mutual respect? What's that? I have no idea what you're talking about. I will say I think civility and mutual respect started going out the window about oh, I don't know, let's say about six years ago. And it all started with one person. I don't like to name names so I'll just give you his initials: Donald Trump.

I received the Brea linen and love the feel of it. Now to find something to stitch on it. Your dinner sounds delicious!! Still in the low 80's here, wish we could trade weather because at 71 years and a little portly I like it cool!!

Not good service on that linen. 9 vs 19 is a lot, I'd probably return it. Or at least spread the word on who it was and to use caution when ordering from them.

Has it been a long since last vision test, the optometrist was that wrong, or if your eyes changed that fast? Anyway, good to know there's a fix.
I'm thinking maybe I should switch from optometrist to ophthalmologist, as cataracts are creeping in and I'm not really happy with my near vision on the last glasses. All they seem to care about is reading, and not needlework or small print. OTOH, maybe with my vision, a combination of readers over glasses and a 3rd magnifier will be the normal way for me from now on? And then there was the eye-watering cost of my current glasses....

Oh my about the wrong prescription for your glasses, Marly. Glad the new doctor is on his toes! Dinner sounded yummy; yay for comfort food! I'm with you on all the f bombs that are presenting in "daily" conversations.

Wow, that eye doctor is a a threat to the well being of his patience. Glad you found a new one.
Your dinner sounds good. Beautiful fall weather here in N. Alabama.

After dropping a small fortune on a new optical prescription (I supplied frames) I noticed things appearing blurred after a time... I could sometimes feel the eye muscle pulling... It seems the ones who hold the real solutions to such problems are retired or are rare on the scene. I
hope the new doctor and the adjustment will do the trick..but happy to
hear it was the glasses and not your eyes.

Hi Marly,
yes I am still kicking around. Closed my 'Village Folk Art' shop. Getting too pricing plus uncle Sam want's some of your profits in the form of a tax. So I opted out. I will be trying to catch up on your doings. Sorry to hear about Carol. I am now a 'Lone Ranger' as my best friend and partner in crime, my amazing daughter and an 'Earthly Angel' has become a 'Heavenly Angel' a year ago. She is 'Home', safe, sound, happy and healthy. I won't go any further on this.
Just want to say "Hi". Looking at some of your Polish recipes, so when it cools down a bit more I will try them out. Still hot/warm here in So. California. Wished we had your snow as I grew up with it in NY & NJ.
Keeping busy with my wool 'Penny' rugs and mats. not too big. Very relaxing and enjoyable for me.
Will be more faithful checking in on you...Love and Blessed be,
Barbara Shores
