Well, here's something you don't hear often

And it's a little .... inelegant.

I've mentioned that I can't partake in dining out, and the reason is Sjogren's degree of dryness I deal with.  Water is not similar to saliva and cannot rinse my mouth of the food stuck to my teeth.  Even a few tidbits stay with me and constant flossing and brushing is required.

We purchased the most delicious massive, sweet, and crisp black grapes.  I only grabbed three and had my water with each bite to get them down.  I went back to the chair and continued stitching.  And then coughed.  Black skin from the grapes hit my linen and instantly stained it.  One spot is light and small, the larger will not show since it is in the margin.  THANK GOODNESS!!  I have no idea how the linen would react to water or an attempt to spot clean.

I should finish the last of the eyelet row today and continue with the body.  After the diamond row (where I accidently reversed two colors), there is lower case alpha and a dividing band before the many rows of solid blue verse.  I was going to start another Christmas piece and still may, but need to move on this larger than I expected sampler (Ann Stone from R&R).

Coughing grape skin.  Not something you hear often, nor would you want to!

Hi Marly: I am so sorry this happened to you, lucky it did not land on the stitched part.
I am going to try dying with grape skins in the near future, it looks like I may like the result.
I hope it is not too cold for you today or any day for that matter, its a cold 16 degrees right now and very windy.
I am looking forward to seeing your new Christmas start.

Hugs
Catherine

Oh my gosh! At least it happened in the margin like you said. Now you can be forewarned that there is a risk that any food bits may land on your stitching when you cough, you`ll have to turn to the side. Cats beware! You are a stitching machine, beautiful work and so speedy! Have a good week Marly.

I am so, so sorry that you have to deal with all the facets of that nasty disease. I suspect that so few people know about the limitations of this condition. I appreciated the "inelegant" reminder.

Your stitching is coming along nicely but that stain might be a cute little something or other. A letter, a peacock, a bumble bee???

Take care, happy stitching!

I once unexpectedly sneezed while eating a cherry. Cherry pulp leaves "lovely" red stains on white linen! It took three days of soaking in detergent and Shout to remove them. Good luck with yours. Linda E.

The good news is that your linen isn't ruined!!!
Sampler is simply lovely.

No, I think that may be a first! So glad it won't affect your sampler, Marly. That must be such a tough thing to deal with on a daily basis... Love how your sampler is looking and no one would ever know you reversed two colors. I think I need to start a new Christmas sampler soon--really need some larger Christmasy things around here. Take care now--55° tomorrow?!?!

How interesting, at least you now know how to dye some linen purple if you should ever need to.

Just glad the grape skin didn't go down your windpipe. It's terrible that you have this to deal with. As if you don't have enough.

Marly, I haven’t been able to log onto blogger for so long and was behind with your posts. Follow you on IG so I’m able to somewhat keep up with you on there but somehow I missed that you have Sjogrens. I do as well, finally diagnosed in 2019 after being very sick. While the medications help somewhat with the organ involvement, the dryness is no fricken joke either! It’s really worse than what most people can understand. I’m glad the grape skin landed in the margin!
