The brand? I don't know. But ouch. It's even piercing the bandaid! The eye is also an issue, snagging the thread and preventing a smooth pull.
Putting all the needles in my case was not a good idea and I don't want to test each one so all will be removed. I made this years ago, several wool pages, always planned to stitch a few more. The basket holds the new packets.
Tried many brands but failed to note differences, will do so now. I do have new packs and will add a strip of tape to the backs for comments. A new case will be sewn with pocket pages to hold them, only preferred used will be on the wool pages singly.
Hope your weekend was pleasant.

Tulip brand needles, Japanese, somewhat expensive but very much worth it. Not the $10 per needle Japanese hand made ones, but really a pleasure to use.
Oh, also forgot to say, Bohn German needles are a close second.
Marly Ouch: I hope you heal quickly, I hope the Sampler does not show snagging in the threads, I had a design I worked on that had a snag problem, it was the thread not the needle.
I hope you are having good weather we had six inch's of snow this weekend after 80 degree weather last week.

Your little needle case is so sweet. Unlike most serious stitchers, I am the farthest thing from a needle snob that you will ever find. I stitched a little needle roll with labeled areas for different sized needles once upon a time. Do I use it ? Nope. All my needles are a hodgepodge of different sizes, sorts, brands and what-not. Tapestry needles, mixed with appliqué needles, mixed with regular sewing needles....and they get plopped anywhere and everywhere (unfortunate habit I know). I pick up and use whatever I can find. One thing I know I do NOT like is the ball-tipped ones. I guess they are ok for opening the hole on a tight fabric but I do not like having to change needles to wind my threads under for tying off. Happy Monday to ya....11" more of white stuff here overnight. ~Robin~
Snagging needle eyes a problem for some time now. Inferior . Use Bohn to satisfaction now, but may try the Tulip, as well. I use few needles, so
numbered pages suffice.
Ouch! Your needle case is darling, but I like your idea about creating another with pockets. Eyes that snag my threads end up in the little blue bottle. I stopped buying Mary Arden because of that very reason.
Ouch on the finger getting poked! I have no suggestions on reliably good needles, or how to track my luck with them. Since I usually don't know which brand or package a bad needle is from, I can only toss the bad one in the pin/needle disposal jar. It's been ages since I've bought any new needles.
I love the needle book and the basket! A needle book with pockets is a good idea. So is putting a blank label on the back of the packages for notes.
Bohin tapestry needles are the best in my opinion.

I just love your needlebook and the little needle basket! Hope your finger heals quickly. It sure puts a damper on stitching! Thank you for all your inspiration.
