The house in muted golds did nothing for me. It seemed disconnected from the surrounding colors for its size, the grass beneath would make it worse. The test pieces were good on their own, but not within the overall design.
Originally, blue was my choice, but that was too strong. So frogging ensued and was replaced with 648. Not blue, not gray, perfect neutral but noticed.
Was at Carole's last evening and there is no progress on shelters with openings. Altering surgeries aren't scheduled until September, we're on a cancelation list, and need to purchase a certain type of cage trap to bring them in. Carriers are not acceptable. This needs a resolution soon and I am losing hope for that.
Enjoy the last fricking day in July. Can't believe it.

DMC 648 looks like a perfect choice for your little house, Marly! The floral arbor looks splendid and the puppy (puppo as my grandson calls dogs) is so cute. Sure hope you can snag one of those cancellation spots for the altering procedures. Hard to believe August begins tomorrow. Although, after this dry, hot summer, I'm actually looking forward to it for a change. Take care now ♥
Hmmm...648 might be perfect for a wall choice at the lake....when Phase 1001 starts. So not like me to think this far ahead. Looks like the perfect choice for your reno project. Sorry there isn't better news on the cat front. Continuing prayers.... ~Robin~
You and your frogging...but you always end up with the perfect choice.
Poor kitties...poor Carole.
Perfect choice of color for the house Marly!
I like the chosen 648 for the house, Marly.
The house will look great with this color.
Poor Carole and kitties-- so sorry for you that there is no solution soon.
Take care, Truus from Holland
648 is a nice soft color. I bet it will look nice.
It's so hard. We had a feral mom cat show up, with 3 little- estimate 4-6 weeks- kittens. 1 dark tortie, 1 very pale dilute tortie, 1 in-between calico. No, wait, there's a 4th kitten- a darker, but still dilute, tortie! Oh, no, look: 2 more kittens! 1 grey with orange undercoat, and 1 black with a single patch of dark orange-brown! Yay, 7 cats! All female!
Can you imagine how many there would be this time next year? Fortunately they were quite trusting despite being wild and we caught them all in 1 night. The mom is sadly too feral to do more than TNR; but she's recovering in a garage and when released will have a shelter inspired by yours and a feeding station.
Because the kittens are so photogenic, they are already all spoken for, and 2 pairs are being adopted together. I'm shocked we made it to August 1 with only 1 batch to scoop up.
It. Is. So. Hard.
And I hate people.
Bummer on the continuing cat situation. Even more so about the surgery scheduling being booked so far ahead. I *really* hope they've got the males & females separated until then.
I've never heard about regular cat carriers not being allowed. Seems like that's throwing up another barrier for people getting cats neutered/spayed, which I'd think they want to avoid.
