I avoid hearts in samplers and most designs. Love the shape in a finish, but years ago the country style of hearts everywhere wore out their welcome. Previous Cat finishes were done with the large heart along the neck as charted.
I removed it and decided on a scarf. Other possibles are a bow tie, bolo, or dress shirt collar with tie. The girls will have jeweled chokers or a string of small pearls tacked on, no stitching.
The first piebald cardinal here had white feathers, and he visited today. What are the odds after all these years to have TWO!! They do not feed at the same time but wouldn't that be great to get both in the same photo?
That green santa book is by Teresa Kogut and has many other santa charts included. Great offer.
The carpal tunnel surgery is minimally invasive with a tiny incision in palm and wrist. And yes Edie my friend's surgeon was Dr Kann in Seven Fields!
My least favorite "holiday" is in a few days, the weather turns very cold, and the appointments/tests begin. But where?
Be safe.

Beautiful cardinal pictures, Marly. Your cat finish is darling.
Love your cat! Such pretty cardinals.
What an adorable kitty, LOVE the change from the heart to a bow! I'm with you 100+% on hearts having worn out their welcome in stitching and decorating. In my case, I was over it when it started.
Your kitty is so pretty as are the cardinal photos. Happy 2025!!
Kitty is adorable...I love his ribbon scarf! Hearts and geese have that effect on me, although I am warming again a bit to hearts... I can never resist stitching a few for Valentine's Day nor any heart design in really (really) old things. The cardinals are just amazing. The residents/visitors or your misfit aviary are remarkable. ~Robin~
Your cat looks so cute with his scarf, Marly! I had to laugh at your first sentence, because I just happen to be stitching a big Christmas piece with a large heart :) Amazing cardinals--hope they keep visiting all winter long.
I was just thinking the other day where our cardinals were. Have not seen them lately. wonderful finish of the kitty. Janice
Love your cat with the scarf, but I love hearts and they are everywhere in the house. When entering the frontdoor there is a small quilt with only hearts I made in the eighties.
So pretty the cardinals in your garden-- hope they will stay with you.
Wishing you and Mark a very good and creative 2025.
Take care, Truus from Holland
