Stones in place, need to pot plants and fill with gravel. Barn stones encircle the house and deck so kept that look, and wood wouldn't allow the curve. A lot cheaper and cleaner than having the concrete removed for such a small area, much more appealing than a slab that always needs power washed.
This is the summer arrangement used on Carole's grave, a change from the floral saddle secured to the stone's top. The number of headstones that have saddles since I added hers is quite high. This product is a two pack of heavy, height adjustable posts for in ground, with coco lined baskets that attach. Simple and a great price for two. I inserted stems into foam and secured with a zip tie. Thinking of a solar path light to slide over the second pole, keeps it up from the reckless cemetery mowing. Find on amazon or walmart. I used Walmart since I could return to store, no free return on amazon.
And here's my changes to the strawberry. Love it.
And this is the only oil cloth yardage I have locally (hobby lobby). Half the thickness of what I purchased at JoAnn years ago. Should have stocked up when they announced closing. Vinyl tablecloths do not hold up outside, my previous piece of oil cloth lasted years, until the raccoon climbed it. Tootsie's house beneath.
Doctor was her usual self .... "you need a cardiologist because you have a lot going on". Thanks doc, I didn't know that. Thought you could get me in sooner or at least give your opinion of how serious this is.
I have to mention this. Hubs was on a golf trip and as always, the majority of them are using weed during play. One, a heavy user (and local teacher), had a variety of gummies. Hubs friend, used to weed, asked if he could try it. Yes, but he warned that it knocked him on his ass for several days, DO NOT ingest more than a small bite. He ate half. This was three weeks ago and he is finally up and around again. He missed the entire weekend of golf, could not move and thought he had a stroke, in bed for days. Couldn't eat, every test possible given, nothing showed. He may golf this week but is so very weak, it's iffy. The new strengths are nothing to mess with. One of the group uses daily and has turned into a paranoid screamer. Can't tell him that weed can make you paranoid, it doesn't affect everyone the same especially if on medication. The only gummies I have are my vitamins and Natrol melatonin!
Have a good day, stay cool!

OH MY GOSH Marly!!! Your story about the golf guy and weed gummy shocked me! My son's neighbor uses them "medicinally" and he put his foot down and told DIL not to let the neighbor babysit the kids no matter what.
Your courtyard looks even prettier than your design picture (but I knew it would). I especially love the barn stones. Same son above got a mess of them from FIL and used them in different ways around his deck.
I know Carol is looking down saying thanks sis, nice touch with my flowers.
Oh...that looks amazing!! Those stones are gorgeous. Lucky you to have them all around your house/deck. Carole's basket is pretty. I am struggling with what to (and what I "can") put on my husband's grave. I researched the cemetery's regs and they were so contradictory and prohibitive, it sounded like I couldn't do ANYTHING (other than a saddle...which I'd love...except the stone I chose is curved so it wouldn't work). I called the cemetery administrator and, while pleasant, was no more clarifying than the regs. :-( I've not a fan of artificial flowers and so had hoped to plant something in ground...but that's a no. And due to mowing restrictions, even hanging baskets are a no. I'm at a loss. Your strawberries are AWESOME!
Everything looks so very nice! Glad neither I nor my hubby ever got into any of that stuff, although we would love to have a good sleep aid with no effects. I take Motrin pm once a week and that's it. Hope your health problems are solved soon! Linda from PA
Love those barn stones!
So sorry the doctor isn’t a “bit” more helpful 😡
Wow! Very scary about those gummies.
It's been in the news on a couple of occasions lately noting that the marijuana/weed/pot/devil's lettuce (or whatever your favorite name for it is) of today isn't the same as that of the hippy era, or even of 10 years ago. Today's is so much stronger.
Bummer that your PCP wasn't more concerned about trying to get you in sooner. Or at least had some words that might have given you a bit of insight of what's going on.
Anyway...at least the little corner is looking good! As is Carole's basket of flowers.
The stones look just perfect, Marly! Will you please drive down and help redesign my patio? Ha ha :) Yikes on the gummies--the only gummies I've ever used are my Benefiber ones! Scary about how strong this new marijuana is. So frustrating to not get more help/guidance from your doctor. I do have a cardiologist down here at Passavant that I like a lot. I know it's a bit far for you, but... Love your berry changes!
Absolutely love that picture of your black and white checked tablecloth, reminds me of my grandmother since she had a table like that with the same tablecloth, she had red geraniums in a crock set on top. Your patio area is perfect with those stones and flowers, such a brilliant solution! Looks like they belong there (which they do). Your flowers for Carole look lovely in that basket. My Dad loved dogs, I found a small concrete dog statue which I will place at the base of his headstone next to some red, white and blue flowers. I think Carole would have to have a cat!
