Hello people The old computer is fired up and running right now so I thought I would bitch a little. More. But I also want to thank you for your help in my color decision. Valid points!
The color matches 783 and yes I use that thread! Yes I have doubts about the longevity of its appeal. Yes I want to find it in the parking lot. Yes I am tired of the drab colors filling the roadways. Yes the hesitation means I have doubts. Yes I do love that spark. So today, this day, for these hours, I'm getting a white Subaru. My salesman asked if there is a menopause manual for men.
How many times can I screw up a vase? Anyone? The only thing correct is the spaces between it and the tree. The handles were low. The vase height was wrong. The handles didn't match. Now the vase is too high. I've decided to remove the top row of blue and leave it as one line instead of two. The rust color needs to go across the top and once again, the handle is off. They should be one row above the vase rim and right now they are even. Well one is. The other is on hiatus again. It's not coming back until the vase is filled and I know exactly where it goes. I doubt the linen can take any more stitch removal.
Today was Antiques in the Woods at the Shaker Woods grounds. It was so freaking cold I had two jackets on and was still freezing.
Not sure if the weather or the Porta Potty from hell was worse. I have claustrophobia. When I shut door, the tiny mirror at head height startled me. Wasn't expecting to see a face. If I was 20# heavier I doubt I would have fit and my knees on these long legs were an inch from the door. The slide bolt to keep the door shut and let others know it's occupied was really tight. What if I can't get it back open? I will panic in an instant. Plastic everything and I had to wonder if it would hold my weight while I pulled myself up, or would I pull that door off its plastic hinges. But wait, where do I grab? Good grief how will I get off this thing? Could I push down on the paper holder without breaking it off? Which would be worse? Breaking a plastic crapper or screaming for someone to lift an old lady off the pot? Thankfully it didn't break. The show was not as good as prior years and I found a small wall box for $21 that I just paid $35 for at James Creek. Same maker. I purchased an old piece of wood to make into a sign and a short garland of some sort of hard hickeythings. Stopped at Jimmy's (Italian store) on the way home.
Came home to the turkey clan, growing, but still very small for this season. Blustery winds, more like late October, and the furnace is on in my house. This was the first year for it to run in late June and now early September.
If I have the gumption, I will go to Staples tomorrow and see what can be done to save the computer files. I have the first two disks of backup but since it wouldn't complete the task, there may not be anything usable. I would consider a Mac if I was willing to spend that much but just can't right now.
This laptop is starting to get hot so I better stop. Enjoy your weekend and stay safe.

I hope you like your white Subaru! I love mine although it is closer in color to DMC 3865. Your turkey clan looks great and well taken care of. I have seen several lone turkeys on the way to and from town. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Hi Marly: Wow that piece is lovely, I am sad you had to pull threads out, I hate frogging, sometimes I just put the piece away for a while.
A new car I think car sales people are a bunch of vultures, and yes there should be a manual for men with menopause.
I hope you can recover all your lost data, ouch I can only imagine what a terrible feeling it must be to see all your work disappear.
I hate biffy's, to small and they always stink and men seem to not be able to hit the hole, so I have to hold my short self above the hole ick.

So I hear much from the belly laughter in the living room only to find Mark in his chair with the computer. Krissy, wait until you read Marly's (yes you are now on a first name basis with my husband) blog!! So off I go to MY computer and next thing we are both laughing our butts off. Then he gets a serious expression and asks me if I think Marly will take the turkeys in if the weather turns too cold. He told me the cats would not like it. THE CATS? What about HER Mark? I said anything is possible with Marly and he got quiet and said OOOOH! This could be good! So we await as the saga continues. I'm loving my Subaru but winter will be the real test. I tell people to ask me in the spring how I like it. Thanks for the laughs. I'll never look at a portapotty the same again! Krissy B.
I'm still laughing about your portapotty experience! I hate them too, so gross! I also worry about some bathroom doors that have a slide lock. One time I had a lot of problems sliding it open and now I really worry when I have to close one of them. I just can't imagine having to crawl under the door to get out especially if you have nice clothes on!! I hope you will like your new car whatever color you choose...
I also tend to panic about bathroom doors with complicated locks. I have never entered one of those plastic toilets, they look so "delicate"!

You rarely fail to make me giggle. I have a similar story involving a portapotty, a major football team and once fashionable culottes (sp?). I haven't used one since the early eighties. (That could refer to either - portapotty or culottes - or both.) Yesterday was fun trying to keep somewhat dry at Hershey Park while standing in line with the rest of the Baby Boomers from the tri-state area to see an oldies concert. The restrooms were like wading pools. There's just something about dripping ponchos or garbage bags. I always think if I can't get out, I could crawl under the door. Not without scuba gear! Tomorrow I have an appointment with a psychiatrist to find out when I lost my mind and if it can ever be located again. Good luck with the new car and may you have many safe and fun miles.

Oh the portapotty......men definitely win on that one!!! Lately I've been screwing up everything I stitch. If it's not a counting error, I've used the wrong damn color...like gold leaf instead of tarnished gold. I hate overdyeds. And I have no idea how I mess up counting....do I blink & the needle jumps 5 threads??? Good luck on the car!!
My husband thinks that I am the only one that has to work backwards, but maybe he now will understand that it is all over the world the same! LOL! Wish you succes with the vase and lots of fun with your new car! I choose a light bleu one and wish it was darker, because you see so much on it, but it also makes me smile so I will keep it!

I love to hear your stories ! I could see myself with the same thoughts in the Porta Potty. Regarding your computer, for years I would not buy a Mac because of the price so I kept buying Dells paying for English speaking service contracts. Dell would service but my computer crashed every three months. My husband and I finally switched to Apple and we have never regretted it. I have had my computer now over three years with no issues. The set up is so unbelievably easy and when you call the help desk no extra charge for English and they are so helpful. We bought refurbished off the Apple site.
Please get your computer fixed so we can all have regular doses of your column. It's my favorite blog on the internets. The crankier you get the funnier you are. The turkey herd is SO cool.
Can't bear to use a porta potty ... At my age I just keep away from those kind of events. Thanks for the laughs too ... your are too much to say the least.
Miss the turkey sightings just one of the many things I miss during our 4 years of living in beautiful VT.

I am with Glenda...buy a Mac, mine is refurbished from Apple site, My son " computer expert" says OK. Never a problems...Macs don't crash. Check out the Apple site. . It is more expensive to start but first one ten years old this one three never a problem. I am not compensated by Apple either...too bad. White...

White cars are great. Believe it or not, they show dirt the least. I hardly ever had my white Sienna washed. I have dark gray now and it's not the same. the vase will be just fine however it turns out.
I have felt exactly like that in those soupcan toilets too! It's even reached the point now that instead of a bath I'm showering because I'm afraid I'd have to get a crane to get me out of the tub. :( blessings, marlene
I'm behind in reading your blog! Catching up. Love turkey birds! I have seen them in the wild a couple times so your photo was enjoyable. Talking about public toilets, I got locked in one in France! I don't speak French. My little book helped but probably it was the note of panic in my voice. Panic is universal and crosses all cultural and linguistic boundaries. Men had to come in, french speaking men, and use a crow bar on the door! Lovely time! Clueless husband shopping in the quick stop for 15 minutes while I am with the French women and men. My trips to a quick stop take 1 minute! Get in get out. Not my husband. He shops!
Oh, don't get white! You will not like it! I have it and hate it!
