Hello people. Hope those of you that are snowed in are safe and warm. The wind looked vicious in the continuous news coverage. Whenever I see people stuck on highways for hours my first thought is always, where is the bathroom? I would never make it!
This is Martha, in the series of offers that included little Robina Leadbetter that I stitched months ago. And just found when decorating for Christmas. My forgetfulness is still giving me double the excitement from my re-discoveries.
Stitching with one thread only happened on 35 or 40, and that was only three small projects. This is 32 but I thought the look was a little more subtle and stuck with it.
Rust was my color choice but I think the 300 I chose is too red. This little sample is 433 and it's more of what I wanted, so........ to be continued.
As for the copper penny linen, I love it. It was used for Eliza Pomeroy and I only have a small piece left. I purchased it at the only shop within a hour from me and she said other pieces had quite a bit of blue. This one is perfect.
Just enough of the mottled bluish green with the coppery tone and here's a better look for those of you that are shopless and need to order online.
So here's where I am, haven't removed the two thread portion and probably won't. I'm sure there was a young girl stitching her sampler many years ago that did the same thing. If not, an old lady in 2016 did. But will I continue in this color since the 433 is calling my name? Why didn't I choose it first? The 430 series was in my bag from Sally and I had enough of those colors. I can always do another small with it though, and just continue with the 300. My house is dusty, floors need cleaned, drywall isn't finished, projects half completed, but thread color on a small piece bothers me. I am so totally weird. And another 5# heavier.
Thanks for visiting.

Yes that looks fabulous! I love the effect with one thread! The color is also really old looking, it will make a very nice picture when finished!

What a good combination. The floss and linen look perfect together. Such a thing would bother me too!
For the copper penny fabric you are using, I prefer the 300. And I would leave in the part stitched with 2 strands. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Love the little piece you are stitching... that linen is wonderful! I know what you mean about re-discovered purchases. Anymore I tell myself to go shopping in my stash before I order something new... it doesn't always work but a lot of time I find stuff I totally forgot about. Stay warm!
I adore Martha!!! So sweet.
We were spared the wrath of Jonas on Ohio's north coast and for that I am thankful. Sunny and 36* today and I'm lovin' it.
Hugs :)

I would worry about the bathroom too. Lovely linen!
Very sweet stitchery Marly.Blessings Francine.
I ALWAYS worry about the bathroom. The Great Dane says that I know the location of every bathroom in any part of the world I've visited. You're darn right I do, and I'll share the info!
Do love the copper penny linen and the sampler.
You are not the only person with dust on the floor and unfinished projects.
Happy stichting
Greetings, Truus from Holland
Your work is beautiful, Marly. Love the linen choice.

Either thread is very pretty. I just LOVE the fabric you are using!
She looks great! Love the fabric too!
I love the linen choice, I made a sampler with one thread...not a big fan of single floss. It just looked unclear, but that is me. Here in RI we were from 4" where I live to 8" where my Mom lives. Funnily one daughter lives in NH and they are still praying for snow!
that linen is fabulous! and i really like the 'mixed' look of your threadss and strands. i think its helps to authenticate the look. cant wait to see it finished!
Marly: This is beautiful, I look forward to seeing the finish, you always do such beautiful things
Blessings

I love this! I was looking through my linen stash and I have 32 count copper penny!! Now to find the pattern.....
I am inspired by all of your samplers and enjoy our blog!
I think it looks great, with two strands and then one strand. That thread looks good on the fabric... I would keep going... You can always do a smaller portion in the 433 at another time! We barely got any snow... enough to muddle traffic and schools were delayed. No big problems. But it was pretty darn cold! Yesterday went up to 63ish... today started at 50, but is 43 now with rain... and heading downwards! I prefer yesterday's temps!! Hugs!
Marly I love your insightful comment that somewhere in the past a young girl did it just this way....we put way too much emphasis on perfection and not nearly enough on the joy of the process. And I've joined you in adding another 5 lbs. Monday. That's my mantra. Monday I will begin again the effort to lose. Despite the fact that we are back at the mission and will be eating in the cafeteria where they are serving this week jambalaya, chicken fried steak, gumbo, etc. blessings, marlene
