Hannah changed clothes

I tried to sell her as a pouch, didn't happen.  So I took her apart and made her into a very firm pillow.  She will be added to the others Wednesday.

Have you seen Nora Murphy's new desktop calendar for Jan 2019?  Love it.  Except my desktop icons are all on the left and hiding the dates so I need to move them.

It says 2018 in the description but it is 2019.

Samplers for sale Wednesday

I've decided to sell these three along with the wood mounted one I showed previously.  I need to photo the backs and such so you know what you're getting.  Not really much there since they are fringed and naked!

This double pocket Hazlin piece I had in the sell pile would be kind of pricey because of the work I have involved, and only of interest to very few since it's kind of odd.  So I may deconstruct it and have two small pillows to set somewhere.  Or sell them if I don't like that either.  How much fabric is left for seaming?  We shall see.

My chocolate iced yule log is still a filthy boy, but he doesn't seem to have any infections starting from bites.

His father (old man Bud) decided to take on the intruder also and is worn out with a damaged ear.

We've been busy for several days trying to make the open shelves between Dominic's cabinets.  We decided to do them ourselves, a simple project, rather than wait for him and try to explain what we want.  You can't imagine the problems we've had!  Taken apart several times, more cutting, more sanding, the sides of Dom's cabinets are not perfectly square or level and neither is our wood floor.  So every which way but loose, there was a noticeable gap.  We'll install this and add the top soon.

That's all I got!  A nice day today with sun.  We've been lucky so far this winter after a very cold and wet fall.

Thanks for visiting!

I found a box

to fit the sampler I wanted to sell.  Finally!  So once I pack for shipping I will list it here, probably in a day or two.  Price?  Hmmmm.  That requires thought of which I am incapable of at this time.

I found a family that could use my extra paint so time was spent checking the gallons and making sure formulas were there so they could get more if needed.  When you are out of shape, it's amazing what can wear you out.  Need to start exercising and found a link on FB for a sample DVD of Body Groove for shipping charge of $4.54.  I'm sure my arms will be knocking things off the wall and busting ceiling lamps but what the hell?  Leslie Sansone and I have a long standing relationship and with new DVDs I have not yet pranced to, we will be reacquainted soon.  I hope.
Later....

More than half

Just by a little.  But it shouldn't take long to finish this very small sampler from a photo.  It's the one I started a few months ago from an Ebay offer for an antique.  Had no idea of the size since there was no chart/stitch count, but on the coarse 28 count it may finish at 4 x 8 inch.  I'm following the original colors somewhat, just a few changes.  How sweet would this be on 40 count.

Have a great day!

Pork and kraut on new years

or the day after, is a tradition to supposedly bring good luck in the new year.  And if mine is any indication, I'm in for a hell of a ride in 2019.

I set the Instant Pot or crockpot on top my range with a padded towel beneath when using those appliances. It saves counter space and is easy clean up from any spills.  The range's controls are facing out and when I bent over to add the potatoes, I inadvertently pushed it in, setting the front burner to high heat.  A few minutes later I noticed a very odd odor and the pad beneath the crock was on fire. I grabbed tongs and threw what was left into the sink, started the exhaust fan, opened two exterior doors and four windows.  Smoke swirled but failed to leave.  Needless to say, after what I went through because of the outdoor fire I did not need a house filled with heavy smoke.

The smoke wasn't leaving but cats did.  Nit was rolled in a fight yesterday and came home completely covered in clay mud.  Completely.  Could not see his fur for the thick goo.  And of course when they don't allow you to touch them, it makes for a difficult situation.  He was worn out and I decided to barricade him in the back room and keep him inside (not an easy task).  About a half hour into the smoke fiasco, I happened to look outside and saw the little devil wandering away looking somewhat like a chocolate iced yule log.  He obviously found his way out the open doors.

I am still choking and after Fabreze, candles, fans, exhausts, and a good cleaning, all stinks.  ALL.  Everything was 100% cotton so I am surprised at the rank odor.  What really surprised me is that the stove top was saved.  These marks from the fire would be, so I thought, permanent.  But after using two soaking applications of Affresh and really hard scrubbing, most all is gone.  On top of that, the pork was terribly dry and tough, the raccoons are feasting tonight.

The large oval crock pot is ruined but we took it apart and discarded the electrics, recycled the metals.  The inside yielded an aluminum inner liner that can be painted and used as a planter, and the removable white ceramic liner can be also.  Jess will love both.

I'm eating a few oranges and will simmer the skins with cloves in one pot and vinegar in another to try to rid the smoke odor.
Off to a good start!  Hope yours was better.
