Hello people. Just came from a doc appt where I was lectured on continuing Eliquis even though my Afib is very brief and intermittent. But I learned something that may help others! As the nurse and I were discussing the severe headaches I had, she asked if I experienced a migraine. Nope. She asked if I know anyone that has. I believe several of you mentioned this. She proceeded to tell me her story of debilitating migraines five to eight times a month for years, the drugs including extended release Topamax, injections, Botox, and others that had no real effect. Her own research discovered a piercing called "daith". Her doctor poo-poo'd this as nonsense and continued prescribing drugs. What did she have to lose? $40. That's all, compared to the thousands for meds over the years. So she located a certified licensed piercer, and had this done. She has had only three migraines in one year and this was done two years ago. It may not work for everyone, but it certainly did for her. If interested, check for a licensed piercer, probably at a tattoo parlor, not just anyone, and consider it. There is more discomfort with this than other piercing because of the nerve endings in this area of cartilage. You can Google "daith" and read articles for yourself, but don't be discouraged if a doctor dismisses it.
This is hers. She choose a hoop but it can also be a stud. She went from considering disability, to a full life. Personally, I like the look! Hope this may help someone that is not getting relief from medications.
