Fabric

  ALL  SOLD
Thank you!

Here are the Moda Blackbird fabric sizes and options.  One pattern is called Beach House which is not the current Moda Beach House.  These are from a number of years ago so don't go by that.  They are already washed and dried, ready to stitch.  Those green stickies were to show size but that didn't work out real well now did it?

The blue

The green

The brown
This sampler pattern was printed a little wonky, slightly off edge, it will go for free with the brown ticking stripe.

If you are interested in any, please state color and either "sampler" or "print/stripe" (blue sampler, green print ...).  If you want both coordinates ask for the color set.  Shipping in a plain 10 x 13 envelope.  Two piece postage will be around $4.  Each piece is $3 except for the brown sampler, I'll add it to the brown stripe for free.

Let me know at samplersandsantas@gmail.com, hoping to mail before the postal increase end of next week.  I am on jury duty all week, God help them all.

The next batch?

Seriously considering selling these also.
The Homespun Weavers yardage, not sure what to do with.  Really nice linen color and texture.  The seven yards of the heavy plain weave, I will check with an upholsterer to see if that's enough for the two small chairs.  I doubt it.  The Angstadt (?) pattern, I do not want.  Heavy fabric to ship, but I may be offering it.

Since these are sampler style patterns, I thought I would ask if anyone would be interested in purchasing.  Most are half yard, let me know.  Moda, the blue is Beach House, don't have the style name of the other but believe they are all Blackbird Designs from years ago.  Not much fabric but plenty for smalls or a project bag.

The brown ticking pattern only has a very small piece of the matching sampler pattern.  They were kind of a chintzy material so I washed and dried all to get the glaze off.

I'll be finding more stuff I'm sure, I think these 12" hammered black plates will also be leaving.  Six pounds worth, would have to be a $20 Priority mail charge for shipping, maybe $45 total.  Still debating, can't get them any longer, but do I really want them?  Great in a  wood cupboard or against a stone fireplace, but not with my lighter paint scheme.

I wish the only nearby shop would allow me to sell on consignment or they could purchase for selling, but they are never interested in primitive or colonial items.  My animal charities no longer hold a benefit and after donating really large pieces, found out they never put them in the sale.

One way or another, some stuff must leave!!  I'll list whatever I decide to part with soon.

Have a good day!  Mine ends with Instant Pot barbecued ribs.

And the finish is...

kind of cute.

The only trick to this is marking a linen thread with a Frixion pen or pulling a thread out for a straight stitching line to follow.  When you remove threads for fringing, you need to have it even so the fringe doesn't go up into the stitching on one side and several rows down on the other.  Am I explaining it correctly?  Pinning it while lining up the backing linen with the front makes sure it's all straight and there won't be a problem when fringing.  Or do what I did, wing it.  Close enough.

Same size, which do you like more?

Marginal margins

After deconstructing the double pocket, I sewed the green part into a little pillow.  There was not a lot of linen on the top and bottom for a standard seam allowance but enough to hold a seam.  The checked homespun fabric on the back was as usual, slightly wonky.  Whenever I use a plaid or check I like the pattern to run straight with the seams and I had a hard time doing that because of the slight twist in the fabric.
So when it came to constructing the red one, I tried something different.  And easy!  There's surely enough for a seam, but I decided to use the same linen as backing and just machine sew them together, right side out.

The black marks in the photo are showing where the machine stitching is.
I left the backing linen larger and will fringe up to the seam.  I think a short fringe would be nice and I don't have to fuss with a backing, corners, closing.  Once stuffed I will pin and sew the last edge closed.  I have to remember this if I ever cut a margin too short.  An easy finish and solution to a tricky problem.  Not the first time I did it, but over the years I happen to forget things.

If all goes well and I don't take a match to it, I'll show you how it finished.

For Sue N. - not a dumb question at all.  I may not even be using the correct name for what my friend Patti called stompers.

Hope your weekend went swell.
