Ready

Four mounted, the other two largest need to have foam core cut from a framer since they are larger than the standard size sold at Michael's.  I need to get another two boxes of bridal and lace pins, the thinnest and best for inserting into the foam and also the only I know of that are stainless steel.  Since these samplers will end up at Goodwill one day, I don't really care about acid-free core or non rusting pins for sixty years from now.  The linen weave on two was loose enough for the tiny pin heads to pull through so I tried a larger head, but they were thicker and harder to insert.  They also left a larger hole which interfered when I needed to adjust its location.  Most of my blood came from angled pins poking out of the foam.

Mark suggested I use a magnet to hold the pins making them easier for my crooked fingers to grab, and it worked well.  There were too many for a pincushion to hold and as you know, I am lazy, and didn't want to take the time to keep reloading it.  Dipping the magnet into the bunch is all it took to reload.

Getting a haircut today, my final treatment will be Friday.  I don't see any change and plan to make the appt for a transplant.  I don't want to wait until there is nothing left.  There's so much Toppik in it now that I have to clean my nails if I scratch my head!

Have a good day folks.

Eye yi yi

Here we go again!!  Back to the eyes.

I've been trying to mount two larger samplers for framing, both stitched on a loose weave 28 or 30.  What a disaster.  I'm assuming it's from stitching in hand and distorting the edges while they were rolled.  I knew Ann Hicks was when I pressed her at the finish and what a PITA it was to mount.  There was nothing I could do (hot water, hot dryer, softener) that helped those corners come back.  The entire piece is stretched too tight which helped the wrinkles that refused to leave.  She's done, but so are my fingers.  So many pin pricks.  Here's a tip - if you get blood on your linen, immediately saturate a Qtip with peroxide and dab, then with a dry one, and continue until removed.

I have a few more to do tomorrow and I will never use a looser silky weave again!!

It's September.  Crap.

Beyond the crabby revisited

Searching for the Death by Chocolate zucchini recipe, I came across this old post.
And I guess I haven't softened much in two years.  Especially since Steinmart received my return of three incorrectly sized men's leather belts weeks before they decided to close, I am not getting a refund.  Emails and contact were never acknowledged.  Regardless of what their website states, they are not issuing credits so I am out over $85.

From early 2018 -

Some needleworkers like to punch.   I would love to do that right now.

Some needleworkers prefer stitching.  It's what a victim of my ire would need.

Some needleworkers enjoy the finish.  Oh how I would love to get there.

Some needleworkers prefer a sharp needle.  Nothing can be sharper than my tongue.

Some needleworkers like a larger eye.  I'd like to blacken a few.

Some needleworkers like their linen to be soft in hand.  I'd rather have a rock in mine.

Some needleworkers have their threads wound.  Tight enough to break?

Some needleworkers are very nice people, with kind words, forgiveness, and patience.

And one needleworker is not.

But she will get over it.  Nothing is worth ruining a weekend, a day, an hour, when we don't know if it may be our last.  And if it's not (whew), starting it with an attitude sets the tone for a wasted day.  How many more do we have?   Daily trials and tribulations are a part of life and nothing compared to the life and death and suffering of others. Get angry, get over it.  Have an extra chocolate or two or three.  Pull up your brand new big girl panties.  Look up at the sky in the morning and start fresh.  And ponder why panties are so damn expensive.  I know why they're big.

Have a great Sunday folks.

Going to the right side

I followed the chart colors!

Am I the only one that can't wait until the Video Music Awards are over on Sunday?  I am so sick of seeing its ad on every commercial break.  Really?  Enough!

Back to basic!

No more eyes until page two.  I tried the center method and there was a slight improvement in my stitch.  Some of my stitches have threads overlapping in the eye, and coming up through it seemed to help.  But I only did a few for comparison.  I was anxious to be done with them and followed my routine.  I can't find the site (linked from Pinterest) that showed the reversed method.  It's obviously not the one used or taught by skilled needleworkers.

The 830 does not look as green as in the photo.

It's drizzling, a light soft rain.   This isn't one very long cat under the rain tub.  Nitzy's legs and Bud's head.

Found out this morning that I have to have the surgery on my toe  done over.   Not happy at all that a pin will be sticking out of it for four weeks.  Just the thought has me creeped out and imagining how removal will feel.

I am able to comment on blogs and IG now, but still not getting all my mail.  Google is separating it into files/folders that I am not familiar with, used Windows mail before.

Have a good day!!
