The backs

I miss my quilt shops so very much.  Checked the closest to me in Ohio and they didn't carry the makers I prefer, then closed a month later, now reopened.  I see two in Cortland Ohio that I will call before making the trip.

Next project is Petite Susana.
Seventy five years ago today my mother wanted to name her new baby girl Susan.  She certainly isn't petite.  I never did find out where marlene came from.

Have a happy day.
Or a tolerable one.

2026 Finish #15

40 count Anthracite, my thread colors, added a little doodad to pot.

Love it, so celebrated with a fried glazed donut.

In the pink

And the first I chose seemed perfect on this linen (3773).

Not too light, too bright, too cool.

This is what the back looks like after my glue, stretch, smash, and trim.  I snip off heavy overlaps and notch along the curves.  Real neat ain't it?  Thank goodness all will be covered.

The last one (Mary's Garden) that called for a light pink vase bugged me.  I used a terracotta shade, too much.  So I wet the edges to soften the Tacky, peeled it off, and stitched in 842, less pink and close to called for wdw sand.  I saw finishes online, they looked fine.  It needed a third layer of fleece anyway so removal and correction was done.

Have a good day!

40 count Anthracite

Yep.  Error on pot.  Don't care.

Finishing these on stiff cardboard, two or three layers of cotton fleece.  I used template with chart but sized to my count linen. Cut the linen oval shape about an inch larger, hand sew gathering thread.  Pull to gather around template.  Once centered, clip and glue edges to back with Tacky, smash down any gathers as much as possible.  Same for backing fabric, then glue both mounted ovals together.  Kathie Strachan has tutorial if lacing is preferred ( her you tube under Home, Tutorials ).
