I did not like that solid black. Not sure what other overdyed floss would be a good choice, I have leftover GAST Black Crow and it is a bluish black. So I am using the WDW Charcoal, a warm gray with brown variegation.
When stitched, I think it's dark enough and the browns are ok with me. The solid black was too stark for the look I want.
Dye is Rit Charcoal with a drop of blue, and a drop of marigold for the brown.
And since I don't stitch much at all for halloween, a tombstone never dawned on me! Thanks Robin, it would have taken a while, if ever, to realize that.
I am feeling fatigued, no physical work today. We added tung oil to the brazilian cherry rocker I purchased decades ago after an entire day of cleaning and scrubbing it. My cedar chair and swing were burned last week after finding what appeared to be termite damage. Yes, they can. Cedar is not as resilient to rot and insects as we thought. Lost two log benches, a deck, and split rail fence to rot.
Taking a ride to snag a few Ice Cubes at the specialty food shop. Carole's date was finally etched into her headstone, another skilled profession that is fading away. He is the last and plans to retire. The memorials are engraved when installed of course, but family stones need dates added as members pass. Many have stones in place with pre-planned/paid funerals and need this service also.
Enjoy your weekend. Last one in July.
I am so crabby.
