Hello everyone. I finally opened the computer I purchased in February and it is Windows 7 which I absolutely hate. The new color "filter" changes the tone of everything, and all webpages are one font, even my blog. I transferred my files, including my emails (to a VERY cluttered mail program), and now new mail is going to the new computer every time I open it, but I'm still using the old one and wondering where my mail is. That's Marly 61 fault, not Windows 7. Scrolling on the touchpad is ridiculous and tedious with constant tapping and even then doesn't always work. After taking it in to Staples, I found I'm not the only one with these complaints. I'm wondering if I could find someone to wipe out the Windows 7 and install Vista in the new one. Between that and helping my homebound aunt with some personal needs, I've not finished Mary.
The other is Kruenpepper Creek. They have 2013 calendars from Simple Life, Of Purpose and Spirit, and Primitive Days, this great heart bracelet, 44" jingle bell garland for $6.50 and mini bell garland for $3.50, some primitive wood items, and just a nice selection and variety. Oh my goodness, 2013!! Y2K was 13 years ago! I was still hanging on to my 40's. Doesn't that grip seem to get weaker with each passing year?

I found several items I liked and ordered this key box (sale-$15.75) and the toilet tank basket. This basket comes in single tissue box sizes also. Computer issues make me buy things. Sorry I feel a need to show purchases but I'm old and this is exciting to me. I almost purchased this box, too. The drawer must be very small but I like it.

I'm sorry I haven't been answering emails or reading many blogs. Just been busy with leaves and Aunt Helen and the demon computer. It's frustrating, which when combined with my impatience, may cause a computer rocket to fly out the window. Good thing plastic and metal don't burn easily. So I'm going slow and taking breaks to prevent destruction.
If you want to check out the Sampler Boxes page, you'll see a few new sets that will be for sale soon in case you're interested. I haven't got to the 4" and 6" single rounds and want to offer all at one time. I am still waiting for a supply of boxes to come in. I would appreciate your suggestions on which boxes are your favorites.
My Little Wonder leaf blower is working full time and giving me some much needed exercise. Good thing because I'm making one of our favorite recipes today. My husband loves gravy and this recipe makes the easiest and tastiest and I have fresh red skinned potatoes for mashing.
That's about it! I'm staying home today so I can get a few projects completed and in the mail, catch up on housework and chores, and hopefully get some stitching in. So anxious to complete Mary and start something new!
Hope you're having a great week - stay safe - thank you for visiting.

Hi Marly! Would it help to just buy a mouse for the new computer?
I hope you have a very productive day.♥
Have a lovely day deary
Hugs xxx
Computers....gotta love 'em! I sometimes do use a mouse when the touch pad seems impossible. It can really help for some things. Hope you can get Mary to your liking soon.
have a nice day.

Sorry your computer is a pain. It's funny how we can't live without them, but they can cause so much trouble. Mary is looking great, even if you haven't had time to finish her. Love your online purchases and almost purchases too. I can get into big trouble if I start shopping online. lol!
Computers are more frustrating than a two year old having a "ballistic tantrum"! Have been checking the Sampler Boxes site each day.....waiting with baited breath....#3 is my all out fav....love the house!!! Hope things settle for you soon.....I hawe a "gravy/sauce" man in this house, too...when I need to butter him up, out comes Chicken Marsala and the world is my oyster.
Sorry about your computer issues, but maybe a mouse would at least help the touchpad issue, I wouldn't be able to operate my laptop without one!
Great new finds you have there, I am trying so hard to resist! :)
Hi Marly...I hear ya...I still don't know what happened to my blog...all changed over night for me...oh well.......love your treasures, Blessings Francine.
oooo I wonder how much you would pay to buy me hahahah ... seriously though I can't use those touch pads either ...
love your wee purchases and hope things settle down soon for you :) love mouse xxxxx
Hi Marly!
I totally understand your frustration with the touch pad. I mean...did they really think that would be easy to use? Perhaps scratching and poking that thing is pleasant for some people...but for those of us who stitch with our hands...well, we have better things to do, DON'T we...? Here hee hee...
I just bought my first laptop and I had to get my old mouse hooked up right away. How hilarious. But now I am efficient and get where I want with ease...
I also understand your interest in smalls. When your time is fragmented, sometimes smalls are enough. I have a few large framed pieces and am happy that I completed them when I could. Life is constant change, and someday things will ease up and you will get back to your larger projects.
In the meantime, Mary Oldfield is just gorgeous. Good for you!
Oh Marly! Can I come over for potatoes and gravy? lol.
Great stitching progress, even with the redo. Sometimes you just need some smaller projects to get you energized.
I hope that the computer is behaving.
Lovely shopping and links.
I love your stitchery.
I don't know how I came on your blog, but I love reading it.
Marly, you are suffering!! Don't worry you will get used to W7 I did LOL.
Mary looks great so far and I do love your boxes, where do you find them, fabulous!
The sampler boxes are fab too and I love the #3 stack, fyi and just in case you are selling:))
Have a great week!
Computers used to be the bane of my existence and I finally switched to a MAC and I will never go back. I hated Windows not only for the viruses but just hated the whole thing.
I'm not a huge fan of windows 7 either, but what do you do?
Thanks for sharing the wonderful links. I'm seeing lots of things I would like to add to my collections. :)
Your sampler is looking great too. I really like the colors in this one.
Have a great day!
Loving the "Marly 61" reference!! It is so hard to change things, technologically speaking, as we age, isn't it, Marly? Be glad you don't work at the library like I do--it is almost impossible to keep up with the latest technology. Every other week some new ebook or database or operating system is coming out. I'm seriously thinking of retiring earlier than planned because I am just worn out trying to keep up!!
Lovely progress on your sampler and what great things you've highlighted for us--that tree with the mini jingle bells is adorable!
Hope you have a great weekend...
Hi marly,
its really nice post about online shopping. i apprentice for your post. thanks for shearing it with us. keep it up.
Apple Store in Dubai
Great post marly, I am only just getting the hang of my PC , but learning everyday , I am not so quick as I once was.
Beautiful sewing, have a great weekend hugs.
ARGHHH!! I DESPISE, truly HATE, touch pads!! My son let me use his laptop when he had surgery...and I don't how many settings I changed accidentally just trying to get to the next tab box....GRRRRR....I do think I'm going to revert back and get a wireless mouse if I use it more often. As for Windows 7 - it's truly not difficult to switch out your operating systems...I hated Vista at first, but now really love it. The main thing is the cost in purchase the new program.... Best o' luck!! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin (PS - Isn't Kruenpepper Creek fun? So reasonably priced I think....)
Oh Oh...Now you've done it....I just peeked at the Halloween decorations at that other site you linked. Oh MY HECK....I'm in trouble now.... Robin
I’m not that much of a online reader to be honest but your sites
really nice, keep it up! I'll go ahead and bookmark your website to come back later on. All the best
