Remembrance

Good morning.  Along with many others, I'm having a difficult time dealing with the recent tragedy.  Seeing the children's pictures last night was just...........  I had been in a good mood for some time and usually the hormonal aftercrash is somber and it came about the same time as the event.  I don't know if any other menopausal maniacs as myself, tend to fixate during these mood swings but it seems I am.  So last night, after seeing those sweet faces, I made a chart.  I don't know why.  Maybe since stitching is therapeutic, I thought it would help.  I may stitch this today, make it into a little pillow, and put it away in a safe place.  I can't help these families, but stitching a remembrance for their children and keeping it near, is the only thing I can do.
Drawing is tomorrow - hope I don't forget.

I can't understand why some people turn into monsters dragging innocent people with them.

Simple and beautiful, Marly...well done. I agree...it is so much sadder seeing the faces and hearing about the lives of those that are now gone forever. Such sadness...

Oh Marly, this is such a hard time for all. Prayers are sent and God willing the healing process can begin for those poor families that have all suffered such a loss, as well as for the rest of us that are suffering for them too. Your words are just beautiful. Thanks for sharing, and let the healing begin.

Marly, that is just beautiful! I taught for 30 years and just can't get past this horrid event. I am trying to honor the children and teachers and totally ignore anything about the horrid killer. Your pillow is such a lovely way to honor them.

Such a lovely tribute, Marly! It is a heart-breaking tragedy; and our thoughts and prayers are with those who have suffered loss, the town as they try to recover, and the nation as it tries to grapple with the evilness of the world.

Hello Marly, that is so beautiful, lovely tribut so......my heart is so heavy seeing those sweet children's faces, what they loved, put to rest. Here in Winnipeg, where one of the little girls just moved from to Newtown, there are many memorials for the family, so heartbreaking. Blessings Francine.

That is when I broke down, too, Marly--seeing all those sweet, innocent faces who had so much life ahead of them. It is heartbreaking for all of us and I just can't imagine what it is like for their parents and sibling, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Just so unbearably sad...

Your tribute is very sweet--thank you for sharing it with us.

Oh my goodness Marly....this sent chills up one side and down the other of me. How beautifully touching. Perhaps that little chair that I intended to leave empty all season long will not remain empty....I know I'll never get this (or anything else it seems) done before the holidays....but how appropriate to stitch it and put it in that chair as soon as Christmas is past.... Thank you for instilling some lightness of creativity and respect into this sorrowful season. Hugs ~ Robin

This is beautiful Marly, just beautiful! I to have been so sad about this and find comfort in my needles and floss, so I am in the beginning stages of stitching a sampler for these beautiful children and brave teachers. I love what you have designed...it just says it perfectly.
