It's just a teapot you twit

Hello all.  Hope your weekend is off to a great start.  Mine, not so much.  I will explain in a boo-hoo post next time.
While running errands today I blew through the antique shop at the mall, and found this.

I never look for glass or tableware, just wood and pewter primitives.  I spotted this little guy and - yes I'm that stupid - didn't know how it was used.  I thought it was so cute, and it's pewter, so it came home with me, after I asked the owner what was brewed in the other two little pots. I have never and will never experience drugs, but I thought for sure this was something for cooking 'em. I've been at that counter during hot flashes, temper tantrums, and crying jags, so he is quite used to me being a little off.
The top is a creamer and the middle bowl is for sugar.  But you knew that.
It was well used from the looks of the inside and is marked W.S. Co.
If you're wondering what I'm stitching, I haven't started the new sampler and the current choice is Eliza Pomeroy.  Or Ann Wragg.  I heard from several stitchers that washed their stiff linen and it became much softer.  So what makes it stiff?  Is there a finish such as the sizing on clothing that is removed with the soap wash and if so, why?  I've had unbleached that didn't soften, even after a dryer tumble with softener so I assumed it's inherent to that linen, but not all.
I think I am finally past the worst part of my pony wall bag.  That large #&%* flower was stitched four times.  I'm surprised the linen held up as well as it did because I started yanking those threads pretty hard.  The ruffled outline will be next and then I can move on to the easy florals.  Almost threw it all out the window but it was so freaking cold I didn't want to open it.
I just took a cake and cupcakes out of the oven, and there are already three empty liners on the counter.  When you have a bad morning, baking should not be considered.  But I'm the official caker in the family and there is a birthday party in a few hours.  Hope there will be enough left for the guests.
It always helps when I write down what's bothering me so I can read it and realize how trivial it all is.  But at the end of the next boring poor me post, there will be information about my upcoming anniversary giveaway, and also for reaching 500 posts.  The plan was to make a shaker box pincushion but that totally depends on mood so it may be a gift certificate.  Much easier during menomotions, my new word for emotions brought on, amplified, controlled, and ambushed by menopause.
Enjoy your weekend.
Thanks for visiting.

I like your pewter find, Marly! Hope you have enough cake and cupcakes left for your gathering later. Now, I have a hankering for cake.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

I have a teapot set like your's, only in porcelain or ceramic, or something similar. It was my husband's aunt's.... It is put away safely for one of my daughters.... so safely that I don't know where it is. That's why I still have it and my daughter doesn't. I love your pewter one!! It would fit in much better with my decorating style, too. Great find!!
Enjoy the birthday party and more cake!!

Nice find, Marly (I wouldn't have known how to use it or what all those parts were either!)...

Sorry you're having a hard day. No matter how trivial your problems are, sometimes it can still be overwhelming. Love that teapot set -- very nice! I've never seen them nested like that, just teapots with teacups. Hope the cake worked out for the celebration.

I do love the pewter set and no I did not know that it was a creamer, sugar bowl , and coffee pot. I love the way they look together.

That is an amazing little teapot. I take bio-identical hormones for my menomotions - works wonders as long as I remember to take them.

Well put frosting on it and call me a twit....I've seen a bunch of strange old things in my day (and looking in the mirror doesn't count)....and have even successfully named a few "whatsits," but that one eluded me. Blame it on my menomotions. Oh....I'm loving that word.... ;o) Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

I would not have known what the extra pots were for either, so if I am lucky enough to see one, I am glad you told me what it was. It is adorable by the way. I also think cake or cupcakes can help any situation, especially if they are of the chocolate variety.

Oh those menomotions can sure get the best of us sometimes. I like that pewter teapot set and no, I didn't know that it was the creamer and sugar bowl too.

I hope the rest of your weekend goes better.

I love your new treasure! And was dying to know what you brew in the other two parts lol! Thanks for filling me in ;)

I think the sugar bowl with the handle is really meant to be the cup, but could be wrong. Have seen lots of ceramic examples and that's what I've always assumed it was for.

Nice pewter find!
It makes me feel better to know someone else has those mental twitches. Moments ago I asked my husband what he did with the clothes I had laying on the bed. As soon as the words flew past my lips I realized I have them on!
Menomotions ~ I like that!

Wouldn't you like to know who used your teapot, creamer and sugar bowl and how it landed in the antique shop.. I always wonder about those things.
Your teapot, etc. is cute and unusual. I'm happy that you found it.

My menomotions were mercifully short lived, but wicked in intensity. One day while doing yard work with Mr.MW we were "accosted", in our own front yard, but some "religious" folks. Well, they picked the wrong menopause crazed lady to try and convert...I let it rip big time. After they went scurrying down the block, my hubby, grateful for the reprieve and happy someone else drew my fire, mumbled something about, "Maybe I could pay them to come back next month". The worst is over..for my sweet husband and any one else who comes a calling.
Cake helps everything!

That's a pretty kewl pewter item! I did not know what it was for... but now that you explained it, I could totally see that being used in a cabin of a long train ride... you know, the old fashioned train rides across country.... ahhh... simpler times!

Just HAD to read this post before many others (cannot keep up sometimes)! Just for the title! I don't think I have ever seen such a teapot before, and I LOVE antiquing and thrifting! Have been at it for years. I had meno TWICE--first was called 'spontaneous' because I was young (43) and it was relieved thanks to my sister's herbals... UNTIL the breast cancer drugs!! Dang, that started it all over! but I am pretty much past the physical swings...No hot flashes again, thanks to the herbals. You are just so funny! Big hugs, as I sit here watching that white stuff start swirling by...

I hadn't a clue about the teapot, either so you are not alone.
Does menopause ever end? Over a decade of hot flashes and still going strong. Enough already. Love your new word.
Hugs :)
