with several rows completed. The Ebay description stated such but I didn't know the extent, and I wondered if I should remove and start fresh, or continue. Comparing the piece to my samplers, I can see the difference in stitches. But after putting a few in of my own, not noticeable at all. Mine are just as bad! The linen is just too open and I can't get a uniform flat stitch (this is nothing new-just thought I'd pretend that it's caused by the fabric). The top gold band is missing two rows but I don't care. My very first reproductions were done exactly as instructed but I was young and impressionable. Now, I do what makes it easier and enjoyable to reach my goal of the early style I like.

Right now I have a tummy ache from a bag of Mounds. I can't pass up a sale! There won't be any candy left by Halloween. This happened last year and started the weight gain of my personal mounds. I need help. And after pushing the 200# leaf blower, I need the brace back on my old knee. They have greatly improved but one spot is still painful. Oh. One more thing. I found a bunch of Santa cards and thought I gave them all away. I'm sure I mailed to the winners - did everyone get theirs? I want to start painting boxes for sale and should start keeping records. In a very large binder. Fluorescent orange binder. Taped to the TV. With brightly colored duct tape. Glow in the dark duct tape. And a flag.
Enjoy your day!
Thanks for visiting.

Oh Marly, thank you for your post this morning! I would probably continue on with Mary if it were me. Or then again, she might get tossed and restarted on fabric more to my liking. Life is too short to settle, even with our stitching.

I agree with not favoring the thin types of linen. Your piece looks nice.. kits can be deceiving at times.
Would it help to add an iron on stabilizer to the back of the fabric? Mind you, I know next to nothing about the beautiful stitching you do but the thought popped in my head as I was reading your post so I thought I'd toss it out here :)
Marly you speak such words of wisdom! My words are the same, I want what I want, but want less. The last few years I have parted with things using that same gauge, would I buy it today? Nice is just not 'good' enough anymore to have to dust it etc. And as for the sampler, I don't like that thin linen either, maybe try just a bit on your other linen and you will know which to pursue. Enjoy the day! Debbie in IL
I have had the same problem with threads on the back, however the problem seemed to solve itself when I used a background fabric before framing, good luck.
Mounds yummy, I had an attack of the snickers bars not long ago.

LUV the sampler. The linen not so much. You will find a way as you always do.
Peace to all,
Barb
I think you should do what will, in the end, make you the happiest with your latest sampler.. All of that stitching takes a lot of time and patience not to be completely satisfied. Just my opinion..
I love your last comment about the Fluorescent orange binger, taped to the TV with duct tape and a flag.. I need to do the very same thing with some of my things will be right where I want them when I want them.
I love Mounds and Almond Joy too.

I know I would be lazy and just continue with it, but you have to be happy with it so do what will make you happy. It's a pretty one!
Looks like you could use the fabric for a window screen. I like to use two threads....I made one sampler with single thread hated the look.... You are like my husband I must hide all Halloween candy from him....or it will be gone. Me, it takes me about six months to eat a box a chocolate, don't hate me.
You are too funny. Love the folder idea!
Hello Marly, Thanks for the smiles today. Have a great day! SAH
You crack me up.
I love the new sampler and probably would feel the same as you about the fabric, but I'd have to do some more stitches just to make sure I really don't like the fabric, lol.
I can actually picture the fluorescent binder and glow in the dark duct tape on the tv!
Terry A - Santa cards received!
LOL, you are hilarious, love your binder idea :O)
I liked your decision to use the pretty blue for the house on the last sampler and I love the Uniform blue that you're using for this one..
Enjoy doing what relaxes and makes you they happiest this weekend..

Marty you might as well stop now on Mary because if you're like me....as we are the same age.....it will nag at you until you can't think of anything else and then you'll be mad at yourself for not changing it sooner because you've wasted all this time. Sound familiar?
Blessings
