Since I am behind on everything, I have nothing ready to offer for a Christmas giveaway. Have a few designs I worked up that aren't stitched yet, everyone is tired of the boxes, and I'm afraid to do any sewing. My machine is an old Sears with metal housing, quite heavy, and I could really hurt myself throwing it out a window. Best I stay away from that room until the moods calm down. Surprisingly, I was in a really good mood Sunday.
My outdoor decorating followed prior years of filling containers with greens, and then removing half of the them. Too much. I spend more time taking away after putting it out than putting it out. I removed the wheelbarrows, several tubs, the beat up chair and buckets. I had extra greens so I filled a few of those buckets and hung them out back. I like it. Considering adding mini lights but changed my mind.
I thought I had a lot of buckets but after hanging them all around the deck, I could use a few more. I was really surprised that wearing latex gloves protected my hands from the prickly blue spruce. No problem at all. I am way off track!
I wanted to talk about the giveaway. I've decided to offer a $30 gift certificate but do I choose the shop? Or do you? As long as the shop offers gift cards payable in US funds through Paypal, you can choose. Sound fair? Or too confusing? Not for you - for me. Let me think about it and I'll post the giveaway at the week's end. Or before.
I'll show you my two new charts next time. I haven't stitched one Santa this year and probably won't.
Stay safe!
Thanks for visiting.

Lovely greens. You always have the just the right look once you are said and done. :)
Don't feel bad ~ I'm behind, too ~ as always.
But...no one is tired of your boxes!!!
Hugs :)

Your greens look great.. so does your flower beds and lawn. You can come help me do yard work any time you want.
me thinks you and i have the exact same sewing machine, mine's from sears too ~ and could very easily be thrown to and fro... without warning:)
I love the primitive look of the greens. Just right! By the way, I love your boxes. They go really great in my home!!
Oh the comment about the sewing machine made me laugh!
I love your style. I've seen photos of what I'm assuming is your front door -- so wonderful! (the lights on each side of the door, the stonework steps, the color of the wood...all perfection!) Looking forward to seeing your new charts. Mouse
Marly, the best present would be pics of your Christmas stitcheries! Show us how you are displaying them this year. Of course pics of the brats are welcomed too.
Greenery looks great - do not subtract! lights?? -- do not add - looks perfect as is!
Hang onto that old Sears machine -- the newer, fancier (and more expensive) ones don't work as well. I have both and "Old Faithful" can always be relied upon!
Love the buckets of greenery. It is perfect!
Marly, your buckets and tubs of greenery look so fresh and natural. Beautiful !
You've really been busy with your leaf blower and other yard "tools". Your yard looks magnificent.
I, too, would consider it a gift to see your indoor decorations---------your stitchery, trees and kitties, etc.
You've been an especially busy, caring sister this year.. Take some time for yourself.
Best wishes for a peaceful Christmas.

Looks fabulous, what a great idea.....take care of yourself, blessings!
I love your decorating. Nice idea - simple greens in galvanized buckets. Have a really nice Christmas.
I always think you have the best decorations! I love the buckets and the greens...wouldn't have thought of that in a million years :) BEAUTIFUL!
I stitched a lot of Santa's and thanks to your Santa trees and my admiration of them, I have my own this year!
I like the greens in the buckets. I think they look great. Simple, yet beautiful. I think your house looks wonderful too. You should share a picture of the entire outside. (That sounds like I'm going to stalk you or something. creepy.) I drive by a house that reminds me of yours outside of Peoria, IL. Its beautiful in it's simplicity too.
Love your buckets of greens Marly. They are perfect!! I am behind in stitching, holiday preparations, etc. And the weather is nuts. One day it is freezing with winter wetness and the next it feels like summer. Back to winter today. I saw where someone put on facebook that Mother Nature is going thru menopause - lol!!
YES ... The greens are best. I prefer natural decorating over the 'made in China' glitzy stuff. Did you say you got rid of the wheel barrel??? I hope not, it has perfect charm & character.
I bought my singer 'dial-a-matic' before I got married 53 years ago. I have no plans of getting rid of it. I LUV it and it serves me well since I am really not a seamstress but rather an occasional crafter.
Enjoyed my visit as usual.
Have a great day with hopes you will continue to feel better,
Barb
Hi Marly... Your simple greens in the buckets are perfect for your home. Such a tranquil feel about your decorating (even if you're not feeling that way when you "play" with the sewing machine!!).
Marly~~~ it looks great, love seeing the back of your place, just beautiful, love your brick sidewalk and the woods behind you, such a lovely house you are living in!!! I am starting my decorations this week, I am so behind.
Love your look. I am going very simple this year. Have boxes and boxes of Christmas, going to try to avoid looking through it so I avoid putting too much out. Nobody will notice but me anyway.
Know I am getting older (sound like my mother)
Gorgeous photos! Love your home and setting! Thank you for sharing them. You are one talented lady and the photos show it. SAH
Love the greens Marly, love the bucket too.Blessings Francine.
I love your blog. I started reading it for the stitching, but I enjoy your honesty. Christmas? You are way ahead of me. Thank you for writing.
Really liking those greens! I too spent much of last month undoing what I over-did. Put me off decorating , but I saw a few things tonight that alphabet me feeling some inspiration. Take care when in heaving distance of that heavy metal machine, lol!
The greens look perfect! Simple and sweet! Do you put water in them? I have not even started decorating inside for Christmas... does thinking about it count? Done that a few times! Hugs!
I love what you have done in your yard. Looks fabulous. You'll have to excuse me now. I need to go change my 'delicates' after reading your sewing machine comment!! Too stinking funny. Thanks so much for the chuckle.

I like the greens in the buckets! That's about my extent of outdoor decorating, but I don't have any buckets, so I guess the only outdoor decorating will be in my mind, lol.
Your outdoor decor is absolutely gorgeous! The quaint and rustic appeal of the hanging buckets and wheelbarrow installation sure is darling to behold. I hope you get to do some holiday sewing soon. Thanks so much for sharing the lovely pictures! All the best to you!
