Shaker Cat anyone?

Good day to you.  I have this little 1985 chart from Cedar Hill - Shaker Cat - and after being scolded by many readers about burning charts, thought I would offer it instead.  The chart is a single card, instructions on the back.  If anyone would like this project, email me (top right column).  If more than one, will chose randomly.
And speaking of cats, still cold, still snowing, still inside.  Driving me nuts.  Missy ignores me when I call her so I don't think she would mind me changing her name to Midge(t).  She is so tiny. The yellow cat is here every evening and eating the dry food left for Squeak (three days missing).   Bud and Nit are just as aggressive, even though they are neutered.  Bud was older when we trapped him so I didn't expect that to change much, but Nit was snipped at 6 months so I'm surprised at him.  My brother said neutering doesn't change them if they are territorial.  Hmmm.  I'm neutered and have the hysterectobelly to prove it, I have "issues", I get aggressive and snap at people.  I am not a bitch.... I'm territorial!

I wondered why I kept finding loose cloves from my pears and things being moved.  Now I know.

Thank you for letting me know I am not alone in my feelings of the future.  I will be 64 this June.  My maternal grandmother died at 64 of a massive stroke, my mother had a massive stroke at 64 and survived, forever changed.

 Stay safe.

Thanks for visiting.

Mischievous little kitty. I know what you mean. So far, I have out-lived all the women in my mother's line by several years! I don't consider myself really old!

Look at that sweet kitty in the cabinet! So cute, but probably shouldn't be there!! HAHA
I'm sure Squeak will be back soon--hopefully he's just out seeing the scenery....

I'm a cat lover through and through, as is my daughter, so we would love to be considered for the chart. I am a no-reply blogger, but you can find contact info at my blog at ginnyscrafts.blogspot.com

Perhaps Squeak is somewhere hiding from the snow and cold--I'll hope he'll return when the weather will be better.

big hug and don't worry!!!

Marly, you must not look at the future that way. You'll be just fine and have many years to grumble just like me. I'll be 63 in March and I'm still wondering where my life went. I blinked and years disappeared.....

I think it's normal to worry when you are about to reach the age that wasn't the best for your predecessors, Marly. My mom had a major heart attack at 69, yet is still alive and vital at 87... I know I will be worrying about the same thing happening to me as I approach 69... Luckily, medical care has improved by leaps and bounds so we are in much better positions than our older relatives were (hopefully!!).

Love your beautiful pewter collection (and the kitty trying to look like she blends in!).

This was a most delightful post Marly. Yes, I think the same too about my mom's age and how my father died at 51 from cancer. We are all similar in our human-ess, I guess. At least us stitchers! I really think you are territorial and not the other as you are so protective and loving. And your pewter hutch is so lovely and I think the perfect spot for your beautiful cat. He/She is really a lovely cat. Have a happy day.

I remember when my father turned 53, he 'waited' to die because he said his father died at that age. He was a sad person during that time... but, he lived until he was 71! Hope all of your cats straighten out for you! Too much going on! Hugs!

I would like to be considered for the chart. Reminds me of Samson who we lost this past May.
Your other cats remind me of the one we are feeding during this winter. He's so much bigger than our indoor cat.

I've definitely been feeling those feelings of mortality. For me, I think it comes from the empty nest and realizing how old I am. I hate how fast time goes. The chart you are offering looks so familiar. I wonder if I have it. lol! Love it though!

I think it is a natural process to think such things when we've lost loved ones at an early age. Here's to many more years and making the best of the time we have! Kitties can be devilish, can't they?

Marly, I love your "territorial" definition; I will by using that one myself. Too funny; it made me laugh. My father died of a heart attack at 53, and I have a couple of heart blockages, but I focus on living each day as best I can with various health issues. All the worry in the world will not add one minute to our lives, but it will steal the joy from each day! As stitcher's we are all here to encourage and support one another so I pray that you can focus your energy on the positives and the joy that you can have from looking for the little things and the blessings that all of us have. Love the pics of your kitty on the shelf. Thanks for sharing.........til next time

ooh, I hope Squeak turns up. Am I too late to be counted in the draw for the Shaker Cat - a design which looks right up my alley! I understand your feelings of impending mortality all too well, at the moment. But, think of all the good things in your life and focus on those.
hugs, Kaye
