Bold in Heart

Hi all.  Too many things happening right now to try for another heart so for now, this is it.  Corny as it is!  I used a short and rounded center furrow instead of a deep point.

Here's the difference with a muslin or white interfacing, and the woven black fusible.

I used the black under my carry over threads too since some were noticeable from the front.

The top line had to be moved and I also changed the bottom do-hickey before sewing.
I like the back almost better than the front.  The other smaller hearts were to be on the gold Havana and a dark grey/green linen that I had previously dyed, and this fabric looked fabulous with each.

The chart will be under the Free tab when I get around to it but for now, it's here.  I almost decided not to offer it since it is so ... corny.  But I've seen so many designs that are sappy to me yet well liked by others.

Bud hasn't been growling through the glass door at Yellow Cat and I thought they may be tolerating each other.  This warm evening when I let them out for a while, all hell broke loose.  The boxes, the plywood shelter, food, fur and blood went flying.  I ran outside and Yellow Cat was tearing into Missy who is half his size.  Bud came running and attacked him so Missy ran into the house and I couldn't stop them even with a broom.  Bud has many bites and we are trying to get to them all with a dropper of peroxide but he is not wanting to be touched.  I know the stray Yellow must be hurt too.  Missy will tear me up so I can't check her.   I hope no infections develop, especially with the upcoming trip to Cleveland.

I got my second order of wool the other day.  I checked tracking so I knew it was out for delivery, and I waited for her to come.  She came with no box.  I asked where my box was and she said "oh!  Was that yours?".  It had my name and address on it so YES IT'S MINE!!  "I left it at 26."  ???  I'm 51.  I told her to go back and get MY package from 26.  Don't mess with my wool baby or there will be hell to pay.  No sense inquiring why she never looked at the name, the address, and decided to gift a stranger with my wool.

Taking Carole to the lab again tomorrow, then the doc, groceries, and I need to clean her house again.  Busy week coming up.

Have a great...good... decent...tolerable week.

Thanks for visiting.

I like corny. Great finish.
This will be a god-awful week for me, too. Have more work to finish at my day job than I possibly can this week, but it's expected to be done. Talk about being caught between a rock and a hard place...sigh.
Hugs :)

The heart is so lovely and the backing fabric is perfect! Thank you for sharing the pattern with us!!!
I hate to hear about a cat fight...I hope they'll heal up and put this behind them!! (like cats ever do that!)
I never understand anything the postman does, so your wool 'delivery' doesn't surprise me at all...
Good luck on a busy week and I hope your sister does well with her lab work.

Your new heart and header are both beautiful.. Thank you for sharing the chart.
For the money that mail carriers get paid, there shouldn't be mistakes like you not getting your wool. It's probably a good thing that you questioned the postal person.
I really feel for Missy and Bud.. I wish there could be something done about that yellow cat----trapping maybe ? I hope there will be no infections.
Sending best wishes and prayers for everything you have to do this week..

I too have been wondering about your pretty header piece.
The heart is really great Marly. Thank you.
Think you could trap yellow cat while the brats are inside?

Hi Marly, love your heart - it turned out fabulous! Poor kitties, hope they are all ok. And, hope Carol and her son are doing well/better. Have a great week.

Marly, every once and a while I crawl out from under my rock....and have to say what? interface under long stitches on back of stitching. When did they happen? Tell me more...

Lovely chart and finish. I like how you did the rounded valley at the top. Probably much easier to get right and gives it a more 'prim' look anyway. Good tip about the dark interfacing. I'll tuck that away in my personal knowedge base for the future.

Thanks so much for sharing the design. Valentine's Day is all about 'sappy'!

Oh Marly, the heart is not too corny, it is quaint@ Love it and thanks for the chart. You know I am all over that.

Poor kitties, there is always a bully that causes trouble. The bully was following his instincts because he thought the others were now permanent Inside Cats.

The postal business is ridiculous. A couple days ago Husband received a beat up old envelope package. Inside were three letters, one of which he has been waiting for for over a year. The other two were beat up as well, one bound for Germany and the other for Seattle. Efficiency! it is so sad. I always say that if I had done my job as well as the postal service does theirs half of Pittsburgh would have died. (excuse the drama)

Have a good week. Lots going on. Thoughts and prayers with You and your Sister.

I've been up in NY visiting my mom and am WAY behind on visiting blogs! I thought I was in the wrong place when that header of yours showed up on your blog, Marly... It isn't your typical style, but it is just gorgeous! I love the satin stitching in it...

And a new freebie for us :) Thank you so much--yours turned out great and I like the less pointy heart center. Thanks for the tip on the black interfacing, too--very helpful.

Sounds like a busy week ahead--hope all goes well for Carole.

Is that a Just Nan design in your banner picture - it looks similar to the one I have hanging at home - I stitched mine in the blue shades.
