Greetings to all. For those of you caught in another blizzard, I hope you are safe and warm. We are freezing and will be all week. How does the wildlife manage in snow that is burying them?
So the heart - I was going to go round after reading your comments, but there isn't enough linen left on the one side to sew and I can't make the circle smaller or the design would be in the seam.
I'm trying this shape as a hanging bag. I'm making my template by folding the paper in half and cutting so both sides are the same, and then tape and adjust to the project until it looks centered.

I have to color my hair today. Usually I do the front and side areas where the gray is heavy, really don't see it elsewhere. Got a short haircut a few days ago. The back is very short and tapered, no longer covered by the longer hair above. She asked if I ever look at the back and I said no, why should I? It's always been a wild mess so why bother? Well, because the back is solid gray. WHAT??? Yep, there it is. I look like I fell backwards into a can of silver paint. Picking up Chris from the hospital after his tests soon, and then taking Carole for more bloodwork. I'll wheel them to the car backwards.
Have a good one.
Thanks for visiting.

By Gosh ... You've got it. I like this the BEST.
Be careful with that backwards wheeling. Too funny...
The whole finishing thing makes me nervous, I have not been too successful in that arena. Anxious to see what you decide.
A couple weeks ago I had a hair emergency and used the touch up stuff, front and sides, had a little left over and smeared it around the crown area. By the time I go to the shop two weeks later, my hairdresser sort of sucked in air when she saw me. Her comment was... "you don't tell anyone who does your hair, do you?" Sort of says it all.
I would have voted for the round, too, Marly, but this looks fabulous :)
Had to laugh at your hair story... The other day my youngest son asked me what color my hair would be if I didn't color it... I said, "Gray!" He was shocked--"Really, mom??? All gray?" Yep!! I thought it was nice that he still imagined me with natural brown hair at age 60 :)
Lovely idea ! I figured you could do more with the square choice.
I always said I'd never be gray as long as there was Clairol. I got tired of picking a blonde color (I'm blonde anyhow) so I just let my hair do it's own thing. I don't know what color you'd call it now.
We're getting snow here in Va. now.. May get five to eight inches or more.. It's our first real snow of the winter. I have a pot of chili on the stove.
Take care with your sister, her son and yourself.

Oh my gosh you are so funny, I have had grey hair since I was sixteen.
I hope you are handling it well, yup backwards would be my choice.
I love love that heart and love the fact you are making a bag, great idea for centering the piece, I have never thought about tape, good idea.

Oh that is a fabulous shape.
This last year of hiked up pain has increased my white hair coming in. I am up to almost 10% white now. I am not dying it.
Love the idea for a pointy bottom bag Marly! I knew you'd come up with something unique, just like you always do.
Now that you mention it, I hate the thought of what must be under my layers of hair color, No doubt I'll die (dye?!) a glorious auburn shade.
Hope all the picking up and blood work went well. lol -- your hair story cracks me up! I say you are going with the times -- modern hair dyeing. Love how you are planning to do the heart -- can't wait to see how it turns out.
I think the bag will be just perfect!
good luck with all the medical things you are helping with.
love the new shape! you need to have someone wheel them out to the car for you...I do it all the time from the x ray department at work...we are all about making it easier for the patients and their families...though I do encourage everyone to use the free parking deck!
anyway...thought of you as I gobbled up half a bag of Dove today...one of those days!
The bag is a great finishing idea! Can't wait to see it!
Yes, the hair story is pretty funny! I say that because I "touch up" the front of mine, too! So far, the back doesn't need it yet, but I'll be ready when it does! (maybe I should go check..it's easy to forget about what's going on back there!!)
Good luck in your "medical help"--you are very good at that!
Oh I am so glad there are other stitchers who carry the thread along the back. I really hate cutting the thread after just a couple of stitches.
Much better choice to do a bag! I have had grey hair since I was a teenager. I played with color off and on, but totally stopped when I became a grandmother at 41!! I actually did a reverse frost so it wouldn't be such a shock to my co-workers, as to what I had been hiding! Ha! Frozen white vistas out my windows today...
I like the shape you've chosen. Love the hair story. Hope all went well with taking and picking up Chris and Carole.
I missed this post darn it. Do we get to pictures of the new hair do? You should color the whole thing - that made me laugh!
