The old bag

Me.  Not Spot.  It seems like this last year was a major difference in my movement, mental sharpness, and eyesight.  Aging isn't graceful if you attempt something you've always done, and instead make a herky-jerky movement while letting out a yelp.  My husband never had to help me up from a booth in a restaurant, but now he automatically gives me that special grip the aides showed us to use when getting mom out of a chair.  I used to be up and out at the car before he opened the door.  Now, I feel like I drank glue instead of coffee.  And what's with the grunt and yelps?  That's not polite.  But if no one objects to the young people next to us using obscenities I guess my yelps are acceptable.  Something tells me those yelps will soon be embellished with those other words.  My face plant last summer is catching up with my knees.  NEVER had any problems before.  Now my ankles are stiff and painful too.  My right hand can't even open a jar. What's happening?  Why so quick?  Geez.  It's bad enough that Menopause invaded my mental condition, moods, patience, mouth, emotions, and attitude, now arthritis is doing the same to the physical parts!  I mentioned before that I used to walk in 4" heels on ice and now I can only manage flats on dry pavement which is fine, but I'm walking like a caveman in Hush Puppies.  HUSH PUPPIES!!!!  The shoes I swore I would never wear.  Elastic waist pants.  What!!  Tell me it isn't so.  But it is.

OK.  Getting on track to what I had planned to post ...
I don't like the Spot sack I inked so I will start stitching.  The design would make a great bag to hang with my collection but I also like it framed, so I am not using osnaburg.  Linen will allow me to choose either finish.  My jaw is so swollen it hurts to look down so I'm not sure I can start it yet.  That's another thing - jowls!  They were already hanging lower than my earrings so this swelling is way down there.  Still can't open my mouth and most healthy food is large.  Chocolate is flat.  Choceur dark chocolate bar from Aldi's is the current indulgence.  And one more thing.  I answered an email this morning and mentioned that my husband says I am always right.  Now wait a minute.  If I'm always right, then he's always wrong, so does that mean he is wrong when he says I am always right?  Because if I am, then he is right, and I can't have that.

Don't forget to leave your name for the heart drawing this evening.  I can't believe how many comments have NOT come through to my email, but I did get them all noted and ready to enter into Random.  Get with it Blogger.  Got glue in your joints???

Later dudettes.

Marley .... You need to start taking Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar. It truly is amazing. Go to Amazon and order the book Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar. It isn't costly at all and will tell you how much to take etc. I'm the biggest skeptic of all time ~ was having the same problems you are having. Because of my stubbornness I didn't try it for a long time. This is a miracle in a bottle! Hope you give it a try.

I am in the same boat as you only 1 year older....my 6 year old granddaughter laughed at me last summer about running and I told her I could still run...I almost killed myself I just don't have the balance I used to! My feet hurt more everyday and now they are swelling if I sit in a chair without a footstool to stitch. My hair is thinning, my eyelids wrinkling and my chin sagging. But the alternative is not what I want...I will just keep getting older and saggier (if that's a word)!

As I started advancing in years, I indeed felt like I was sipping Elmer's glue, now it feels like full on Gorilla glue most days. Maybe it was all the paste glue we used to eat in kindergarten. Could even be the glue in the envelopes we have licked all these years. Yeah, that's it...I am not getting older, its the freaking glue!

Yes, getting older is no fun. I have similar problems. Wonder if the powers that be decide "Right today I will inflict this on you and tomorrow it will be this problem."

I feel your pain! We are about the same age and I just had my first eye floater which my ophthalmologist gently explained happens after age 60...... and that it won't be my last. So now I have to get used to bubbles in my line of vision while I stitch!

Getting old is not for the faint of heart!

Growing old is not for the faint of heart. But I will take it over the alternative. Love your blog.

Believe me, I feel your pain. I had to have a total knee replacement at the tender age of 52. Everyday it seems like a different joint. It does beat the alternative. I greatly enjoy your blog.

You never fail to make me smile. :) Arthritis has camped out in my hands too but with one prescription med and Tart Cherry pills I manage pretty well. But yes, everything that can fall, has done so. What's more, I can't lift it up! blessings, marlene

You have made me chuckle! I guess I still have a chance for the heart, that makes me happy!

Love reading your blog and all the stitching you do

Yes, Marly.... definitely glue in these joints, too. I stand, make sure everything seems operational, then start walking, hunched over of course. Once I get going pretty good, I can finally stand erect.... NOT happy!!

I believe I'm younger than you are -- but I'm feeling the same way these days. Arthritis has me in its grips and I'm not escaping. Menopause has officially started, according to my doctor and blood tests. So fun times all around. Sigh.

Thank you for the chance to win the heart. My mother in law tells me The Golden Years aren't for sissies. As I get closer to them I am understanding what she means. : )

All of the aches and pains that you mention sound all too familiar; I don't feel old in my thinking or my mind, but my body sure makes me wonder!! It is comforting to know that there are many others out there just like us; we are in good company. Keep pushing forward and don't give up!! Blessings to you.....

Ok, so I am a little tardy in replying to blogposts... sue me! Life suddenly got hectic! I am sorry you are hurting so much. If you can, call your doctor and tell them the symptoms... maybe they can recommend vitamins or supplements you may be lacking. Something like that. Worth a try, eh! Big soft hugs!
