Wait!!

Not yet.  Forgot about the driver license expiring and need to make a trip tomorrow.  Refrigerator died yesterday, repairman coming tomorrow.  Morning trip to the doc because my foot is like a balloon and so swollen it is almost numb.  New compression and instructions to stay off it for a few days.  Not sure when I will get upstairs to make this into the sack.  Doesn't look bad as a banner with bottom fringe to hang from a rod either.  However I finish it, it may not be listed for entries until the weekend, chart to follow.

To no-reply Diane P., yes the nun stitch would definitely stop any raveling edges, and I've also used a plain whipstitch without a problem, using floss or a pulled out linen thread.

And here's a mystery.  Can anyone tell me what this clear amber gelatinous substance is that appeared in numerous little piles over my yard?  Aliens?  It's not as firm as Jell-O but holds together, and we have no idea where it came from.  Creepy.

Busy busy - be back soon with the official entry post.

Thanks for your patience!  Listen to me.  Like everyone is waiting on the edge of their seat because this is just so fabulous.

Oh it is very nice! Amazing job again!
I'm sorry your foot has gotten worse. Compression and rest will hopefully work quickly - tell your husband to recruit some friends as you now need to be carried around like Cleopatra ;-)Instructions for a royal platform are probably somewhere on the internet...
As for the mystery goo in the yard - it reminds me of the Unsolved Mysteries rerun I saw the other week. A town in Washington was covered in a jelly-like goo. The government said it was jellyfish, the "conspiracy theorists" said it was a government experiment. There was never a resolution, so if you find one you could be famous.
I do have to admit I'm on the edge of my seat to see your finish & chart. Thankfully, I'm sitting on a soft chair, so take your time and heal, darn it!

I love the liberty design. The brown stuff looks nasty, I have no idea what it might be. Sorry to hear about your foot, take car!

So sorry about the swelling, it may take a while for this to resolve. Compression and elevating should help. Lot of time to sit and stitch I suppose.

The new work is so nice, very timely for 4th of July. Can't wait for the chart as well.

The 'stuff' looks like tree sap. I live in the woods and am surrounded by hundreds of trees. I have some of this too. It has no scent, is sticky and if you get it on your shoes they will be tossers!

Good luck.

Marly,
It IS fabulous---- finished or not!!

Those 'interesting' deposits from your yard somewhat resemble tree sap. I am surrounded by pine and oak trees, and while I've never seen that laying in my yard, I have seen similar on the trunks of trees.

I hope your foot heals soon. You sure have had a go of it with that.

Hi Marly,
Love your header picture and I hope your foot is feeling better.
The glop from your yard looks gross, I wouldn't have touched it!
Let us know when you find out.

I love this pattern - can't wait to see the finish. Oops...yes, I can wait. Don't walk on that foot!

Love your design!

For the "Jelly" - google clear amber goop and there are plenty of fruit tree forums that address the problem. Sometimes that stuff comes out of trees when they have a bug infestation or a fungus - yuck!!
Good luck!

Love your design. I have no idea about the goo. I wouldn't have gotten that close to it. You can take a girl out of the city ... Wishing you relief from the swelling.

Eeewwwww that gooey stuff looks nasty. I'll bet it is plant related, but it is just gross. Love your newest creation Marly - another winner. Sorry about your foot. Hoping the compression works. I'm beginning to think I need a full body compression - lol.

Love your new creation......hanging bag or not.
I finished all of my Americana stitching and have it displayed in an old wooden bowl.. Proud of me !
I'm sorry that your foot is giving you so much trouble. Please take care of it.. My daughter had fluid drawn from her knee and a shot of cortisone yesterday (Wed).
Our AC died so have to have a whole new unit put in, but not until Monday. I had just made the last payment on our new roof. I'll never win !
Take care and stay cool.

Hi Marly: I hope your foot gets better soon. I am not sure but this looks like a fungus from to much rain. Maybe.
Your stitching is beautiful and just in time for the 4th.

Can I bring you tea and cookies? Your pattern is awesome!!!! That goopy stuff looks very much like a fungus. Be careful not to touch it with your bare hands. Put your feet up and sit a spell, everything will still be there tomorrow....

Take care, there's only one you!
