Four things. Four fricking things.

How 'ya doing?  Happy?  Crabby?  Snarky?  Sad?  All of them?  Welcome to my world.

1.  If I see another politician wildly waving their signature arm movements, screaming to crowds of how they will solve all problems without one solution spoken, I will choke on my chocolate.

2. And.....when did the meaning of hack become a "tip"?  Hack always meant a skilled person who does horrible work or a computer invasion.  Now it's "check out these cleaning hacks"  "cook quicker with these hacks"  "101 of the very best hacks".  What the hell?  I don't like changing word meanings.  Make up a new one and leave my old lady vocabulary alone.

3. I purchased a calcium supplement (gummy since I can't swallow pills) and didn't read the fine print - "Processed in a facility with products that contain egg, fish, shellfish, soy, and tree nuts".  Put it on the front label, don't hide it in the fine print.  I'm allergic to shellfish.  Chances would be minuscule to have a reaction but I take no chances at all.

4.  Finally.. KALE!!  That bitter crap is everywhere.  Kale has always been known to be a healthy vegetable.  But all of a sudden, marketing has taken over and it's everywhere and in everything. It's the same green that it was 10 years ago.  It's extremely high in vitamin K1 for coagulating or clotting your blood, so anyone taking Coumadin or anti-clot drugs, it will change the PT/INR blood work unless you eat it every day.  Many veggies are higher in Quercetin and other flavonoids than kale.  I'm not saying you shouldn't eat kale, if you can handle it, eat it.  It's good for you, has lots of other healthy benefits, but so do other cruciferous vegetables. Give me a break and quit pushing it.  Eat a cup of blueberries, a banana, and a sweet potato, they taste 684% better and are just as loaded with vitamins and minerals.  Get the kale away from me!  Geez.

You see how little things that should have absolutely no effect on my mood can turn me into a wolverine?  In another few hours, I'll be laughing hard enough to need a mini pad.  I'm out of control people.

Tomorrow... Sunday right?, I'm posting the giveaway and my new project.

Have a good evening.  Snark away.

Not a fan of kale unless it is disguised with something else! Like you, I am not fond of the vocabulary changes. I think you should return the calcium gummies and get a refund. Shall I send you some chocolate?

I'm with you on the kale. Tried it once, didn't like it. Maybe if it were in soup I'd like it?

Thanks for the good laugh, we think alike.

I'm with you on the kale...the amount of sugary dressing required to counteract the horrible taste would totally ruin any nutritional benefits it has!

Politicians are about to kill me. So sick of the blabbering. Hate kale. Agree potentially harmful reactions should be easy to find. They rarely are. i hope the crabby mood has passed by now and that you're enjoying some chocolate !

Never tried kale now I know why. So sick of politics I don't watch any of it anymore.

Ah, Hack! The use of that word is a big pet peeve of mine. I just got done ranting about it to my husband a few days ago. Why do people think they're technical geniuses for making a sandwich? Check out these lunch hacks! = directions for making a bacon sandwich. Please! I'm no old lady, nor am I a prude but trendy slang that just sounds stupid is annoying. Remember a few years ago we couldn't hear about someone's shopping trip without them telling us that they "heart walked" into the store (parked at the far end of the parking lot on purpose)? Years ago it was "quality time", remember that one? If I'm alive and well, it's all quality, none of my hours are any less or more important than others. Don't get me started. And as far as kale goes, can you hear me laughing? A kale lobbyist is not gonna make me forget what I know - kale sucks, always has and still does.

Thank you - if you start a movement to get rid of the word 'hack' I am a supporter. Then can we move on to a whole dictionary of others.
......as for the politicians, they have become a scourge.

So much enjoyed reading your post.
I don't like this habit of creating "trendy" foods. It's vegetable carbon here at the moment. In bread, croissants, rolls... It's getting crazy

Love your post reading it on a sad rainy sunday.
I don't agree with you about kale. Have to think about translating the recepi into english and I will send it to you.
Have a wonderful sunday with a lot of chocolat.

I'm tired of all the politics too.
I think they purposely do that with labels, they don't make it easy to read.
Just like coupons, you find a really good one, then at the checkout, it says in fine print that you have to but 2 or maybe even 3.
In the garbage it goes. lol

I'm with you on the blueberries, bananas and sweet potatoes........two of them can be put on ice cream ! However, I was raised on kale cooked with a ham hock......still enjoy it from time to time.
I used to hear the teenagers say "he coughed hard enough to "hack up" a lung....every hear that one ? YUCK
I understand about the mini-pads too........you have such a wonderful sense of humor.
I'm so sick of the politics.....can't wait til this whole thing is finished.....there's one, though, who I hope and pray doesn't get elected ! ! ! ! !
Have a beautiful Sunday.

Marly and all you wonderful commentors(spelling?)...what do you say we get together and take over the world?! We all could fix things in a heart beat :) It's so good to read all the like-minded comments.

WAHOO! Someone put my feelings down and published them! A national fast food chain recently dropped coleslaw and substituted a KALE salad. I've protested, but they just don't understand that not everyone likes that stuff.

I've been ranting about HACKS for ... it seems like ... ever. Another definition.

And talk about things hidden in the small print, I am allergic to mushrooms. I spend hours in the store aisles reading labels ... and still end up with the little bits of me-poison.And all of the various names for them don't help --- shitaki, woods ear (that one got me in China - the folks in the restaurant told the tour guide it was OK for me to eat the particular dish because it didn't have mushrooms, but had woods ear), cremini, portobello, and on and on.

From the comments ahead of mine, I'd say that you struck a chord with your readers. :-)

HACK the hack word...
I sooooo agree with you on word. Hash Tag is also on my list and I don't do any of the social media posting stuff (not even face book).

I always thought 'Hack" meant to cut down or move through...like I need to hack my way through all this political garbage! Love kale chips even picky husband liked them! I object to...gluten free, you do know it is a very small number of people who need gluten free food. These people have celiac disease! Really cheerios are gluten free, give me a break!!!

You should live in New Hampshire - before the primary our mailboxes are stuffed with ads, our phones ring off the hook, and there are more tv ads than programs. I'm so glad when they all leave! My son's kale comment - "it used to be the stuff they used to line the plates on buffets. Who decided we had to eat it?" Keep them coming, Marly - you are our spokeswoman! Lori

Marly - You are always good for a laugh and cut right to the point. My step-son pointed out the kale under the bowls of potato salad at the deli counter in our grocery store and wanted to know why they were selling it there...And you're right, everything is a hack - because apparently, none of these young'uns were paying attention for the first 20 years of their lives and think they invented absolutely everything! And if you pick up a "fashion" magazine at the hair salon, they even think they invented sex. lol

Thanks for the education on the word hack. I must live under a rock because I did not know the new definition.

OMG....This post has me needing a MAXI, not a mini, pad. I actually am a kale fan...in Zuppa Tuscana....but that's about it... Vocabulary changes...tick me right off...unless it's a word I'VE made up...that's different of course.... Last acknowledged change to the word "hack" was as in that phlegmy cough thingy that grosses me out...so why would I want to know about the latest "hacks"? And politics? Well...hell's bells...I've spent a lifetime trying to avoid them and I ain't stopping now....

My husband decided to grow kale in his garden last summer. It went wild and grew and grew, but not even my health-nut husband could stand the taste of it :) He ended up pulling out the plants and I'm sure will never even think of planting it again!

Marly your post reminded me of a classmate we had dinner with recently (graduated from high school together 50 !! years ago). His wife "went vegetarian" about 25 years ago, which meant he did too. They eat lots of kale. :) blessings, marlene

Gosh, I have those same moods -- and they can change in a split second. My neighbor grows a ton of kale. Fortunately, her son is a chef in the big city and comes weekly to harvest it for his restaurant so I never have to take any, lol.

I agree wholeheartedly about Kale--yecch!! And the word hack being used as it is nowadays is STOOPID!! I am getting worried about the state of our country, now that I actually saw someone with a Trump bumper sticker... I swear I think he is doing it on a dare, as a joke... which is NOT funny! Sad...sad...sad... My sister is an herbalist, and is VERY conscientious about labeling her products!! If only they all were so devoted to our health! Hugs!

I agree with the thought that incapability of Kale is very visible! I wish we had more diversified range of candidates!
