Still having an issue with wanting to stitch so I chose what should be fun and a change from the marking samplers.
I stitched PS's The Fox and the Grapes decades ago, and have always wanted to do it on linen instead of my original Aida. What do you think of using the dark blue/gray that I dyed recently, sort of a night scene? Looking closely at this linen, I will definitely need to move up in the cheater glasses, probably to 2.50.
The fox's rust will stand out nicely, the greens can be lightened, the berries brighter, but do I want the house that light? I think it may be too much on this very dark ground so I am looking for a grayish taupey neutral without a yellowish tanish look. Ya know what I mean?
I'm leaning toward the 644. And you know what? I'm actually getting excited. And that doesn't happen very often to this crabass.

I've always loved this design. It will be fun to see it on a dark ground. Your choice of color for the house makes sense to me!
looking forward to seeing this stitched on the dark linen...I just had to put a long sleeved thermal on over my pj's this morning...
I over this pattern and can't wait to see it as a night scene! I find I have to change thenyupe of pattern I'm stitching often or I'm VERY BORED and there goes my mojo. Enjoy the change!

I don't remember seeing this design before. I love it! I agree with you, not to bright on the house and I cannot wait to see the fox done.
Interesting. What color roof?
I like the 644 or even the 642. Or perhaps stitch the house in the window pane color and use the 644 for the window panes. Look forward to seeing your progress on it!
I think it will be stunning.
It's going to be fantastic. So glad you're excited.....I'm excited for you.

I think this will be wonderful on the dark linen with your color changes and so glad that it will be an exciting project for you. I vote 644!
I think it'll look great on the darker linen but agree the house needs to be darker.
A beautiful sunny day here in Ohio. Just a wee bit cool ~ perfect for digging in the yard. So much to do!
This will be wonderful on dark linen, though I'm sure I could not see to do it.
Hugs :)

Aww, I love it!!!! For a long time, this was my favorite PS (and PS Is my favorite!) I too have been thinking of re-stitching. I think I made it with overdyeds, and want a classic DMC look. I adore your night scene concept!
Nothing satisfies like a Prairie Schooler! You are going to have a fantastic time; I'm so happy you are feeling excited.
So happy to see those juices flowing again. That's why I get carried away doing so many different projects...I run dry, temporarily, until I see something that once again is an inspiration...I think you know what I mean. Am eager to see the dark linen finish...love the design.
As you can see, I am still kickin'...slow but sure...kind of goes with the territory. Am doing a sampler in between learning how to knit. Also, love your strawberries...a great inspiration. So far I have 3 red velvet done and gonna do a golden color velvet next. Hope to get one of those bead caps...Really like the look.
Any ways got to go and get some potato salad made for dinner...TTYL.
Peace as always, Barb
Evening Marly, love it, but then I always do.Blessings Francine.
I like your choice of fabric and threads for the PS stitch; it will look so cute!! Have fun stitching it. I always enjoy stitching a PS project; they are so fun and the colors always look great.
It will be fun seeing this stitched on dark fabric! Glad you're inspired!!
LOVE the color or the fabric - winner for sure. ENJOY!!!
I love that pattern. Have often thought it would make a great bottom section for a sample but haven't been able to quite figure out how to make it work. Will be great fun to see how it works as a night scene.
