Did you know that the U.S.MARINES, were created to protect the American Coasts and then were deployed by Thomas Jefferson, shortly after hes was sworn in as our 3rd President, to fight the 'Barbarian Pirates'(MUSLIMS), who were from the Barbary coast which includes the northern shores of africa, including Tripoli, Morocco, Algeria & Tunis...Hence "from the Shores if Tripoli". These marines also wore leather straps around their necks to help save them from getting their heads cut off ...hence the name "Leathernecks". Just thought you should know.
